The Department of Government Efficiency, which is led by Elon Musk, arrived Friday at U.S. Peace Corps headquarters in Washington, D.C., suggesting it could be the latest target of the Trump administration's efforts to downsize the federal workforce.
The Peace Corps, which has an annual budget of more than $400 million, has long been popular with both Democrats and Republicans. There is a bipartisan Peace Corps caucus in Congress.

Yup—every federal program is there because many folks in Congress love them.
Agencies need to be slashed and cut regardless.
Chris “Barney Rubble” Mathews always likes to brag how he was in the Peace Core.
The agency is just a junket “pretend jobs” for hippies that can’t find employment in the private sector. It’s like a ManPower for democrat party apparatchiks.
What’s the CIA going to do? DOGE is shutting down all their fronts.
It needs to be shut down.
Picturing the Peace Corps cranking the drawbridge closed as DOGE approaches with its battering ram and catapults.
A quick check on the peace Corp leadership reveals it appears to literally wreak of DEI.
Executive officer, deputy and Acting Chief of Staff are all women....the deputy being a minority.
Love them for the money that bleeds into their corrupt pockets.
And not only because they are useless.
We are BROKE! We don’t have the $$$ to keep funding pie in the sky foolishness.

The good news keeps rolling in! I’m not tired of winning...or at least being in the game with pending lawfare.
Started with JFK. It was designed to be a feel good organization that turned its participants into life long democrats. The followup was Americorp. It sent middle class ‘volunteers’ into poor areas to make them feel guilty about their white privilege.
This is how you reform the CIA. Cut USAID. Cut the Peace Corps. Cut the Red Cross. Get rid of the 6400 extra positons on the books at State which exceed the Congressionally authorized mandate of 15,000 foreign service officers/specialists - that extra 28% are undeclared.
DOGE needs also to target LEGAT at State. LEGAT is the FBI overseas, complete with their office level encryption devices for their internal networked systems piggybacking State/Agency Com’s.
Another one of JFKs pet projects along with USAID developed for the Vietnam war aid. How brilliant is that. Send a bunch of idealogs to a war zone to get killed.

I’ve despised the Peace Corps concept for almost that long.
#1 The Peace Corps beguiles young, naive, impressional people into very risky situations w/o support. The volunteers are left on their own in dangerous circumstances, rapes and assaults are basically ignored.
#2 Liberals and their “sounds noble” hare brained, bootless schemes disgust me....=
#3 There is so much that needs to be done in USA and locally if you have a sincere urge to contribute your efforts rather than virtue signal or enhance your resume.
Once upon a time I held a very sensitive position in an Army intel agency. At that time there was a list of organizations you could not belong to, or you’d never get a TS clearance.
The Peace Corp was one. Obviously, the communist party USA was another. I presumed those going overseas with the Peace Corp could have been easily flipped. Most of them being hippy draft dodgers, that would have been easy.
