Appeals Court Delivers MASSIVE Blow To Activist Judges

The Trump Administration secured a massive legal victory with far-reaching implications on Saturday, when the D.C. Court of Appeals issued a ruling that could grant the administration relief in several ongoing cases.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit on Saturday granted a stay on a lower court’s order that had mandated the reinstatement of over 1,000 Voice of America (VOA) employees who had been let go by the Trump Administration, which has moved to largely gut United States Agency for Global Media (USAGM). A lower court judge had previously ordered the reinstatement of all employees and a full return to previous VOA operating standards.
“This is a huge victory for President Trump and his Article II powers granted in the United States Constitution. It’s also a victory for US Agency for Global Media (USAGM) and VOA,” Kari Lake, who has been serving as a senior advisor to the USAGM for the Trump Administration, told Fox News after Saturday’s ruling was handed down.
Some Good News: Government Spending Fell in Last Three Months

The U.S. GDP shrank slightly in the first quarter – something we never like to see. This data predates the last four weeks of the trade/tariff war trauma, so we are worried about the second quarter coming in negative – which would technically mean recession. If we could get the tax bill signed sealed and delivered, that would provide immediate juice for the economy. Instead, Congress dithers, and they will get blamed for the technical recession.
But there was some good news in the report. Much of the “growth” under Biden was “fake growth” driven by trillions of extra government spending and debt.
I realize the graphic does refer to something other than government spending. The article ties the both together.

The big, beautiful tax bill winding its way through the House and Senate just got a lot better.
The House Judiciary Committee, chaired by Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio just posted the draft text of its portion of the bill yesterday and it’s a banger.
They would amend the Congressional Review Act (which allows Congress to rescind costly regulatory agency regs) to correct its biggest design flaw. Even if the House and Senate vote to overturn a regulation, the president who issued the regulation can use his veto to save his own rules (except when the presidency has just changed hands). This delegates way too much law making authority to the Executive Branch.
Under the new process proposed by Jordan, any regulation that has a budgetary effect would require affirmative majority approval by the House and Senate to take effect.
