"Free thought" is a philosophical viewpoint which holds that positions regarding truth should be formed on the basis of logic, reason, and empiricism, rather than authority, tradition, revelation, or dogma.
When you are awake, you are able to clearly see.
The choice is yours, and yours alone.

I remember distinctly seeing that episode too.
Not surprised it kills cancer. It’s a strong parasiticide. Only problem is that it can have some severe side effects if not used with great caution. I have some personal experience with it getting rid of parasites (pinworms) used for a few days on kids (absolutely the worst tasting thing in the herb kingdom, the essence of BITTER that doesn’t go away). Within a day of stopping the recommended does, pinworms returned. Due it’s level of toxicity, I wouldn’t use it again. Garlic gets rid of parasites, at least pinworms, very easily. There are other remedies for cancer both herbal as well as ivermectin and fenbendazole, that are reliable and much safer than wormwood.
About it’s anti-cancer uses I never looked into it. Wormwood is used to flavor absinthe, a weird alcoholic beverage that is used more in Europe as far as I know.

All y'all gather 'round and give loud and long thanks to God that you are Americans and not citizens of that benighted and bedeviled country, West Taiwan. Those of you who have been reading my Broken China Updates since I started them some two years ago will know two things about me. One, I have NEVER been sanguine when it comes to the outlook for West Taiwan, aka, the People's Republic of China (PRC) or the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Two, I will not engage in sensationalism or make wild predictions of the imminent demise of either the PRC or the CCP. I like to focus on things I can at least claim nominal expertise, specifically Economics and military.
Now that y'all are paying attention, here goes part two of the single item updates I promised. Sorry for the long read but I need to put stuff in context.
Concerning the PRC economy, in a word, bad. In two words, God Awful. I think I now know the primary reason the PRC economy is so bad off. It's People, or rather the lack of people. This is not the first time I have talked about West Taiwan's horrifying demographics. You need ~2.1 births per woman to maintain a stable population. The birthrate in the Tier 1&2 cities is currently ~0.7 births per woman. Since this is a PRC published statistic, the actual birthrate is likely lower. For context, this is a lower birthrate than that of European Jews DURING the Holocaust.
So much for the GOOD news for West Taiwan. Now for the bad. Large swaths of the PRC populous seem to be missing. The official population is ~1.4 billion. Yet somehow the Tier 1&2 cities are noticeably emptier than they were in 2020 when the official population was ~1.1 billion. This is based on observations of the people in the PRC. It will not take much effort to find Chinese YouTube videos on the subject. That the PRC is missing population is not open for debate. The question is why.
The answer, to my mind is COVID. Here I am using COVID as a generic term for a broad swath of upper respiratory diseases.
COVID in the US was a kitchen grease fire. In West Taiwan it was the LA wildfires. COVID hit China hard, real hard. It never really let up very much. The actions of the government, at all levels, didn't help.
If you want to find a crowd in China these days you go to either a hospital or a crematorium. For some reason Han Chinese people seem to be much more susceptible to upper respiratory infections than other people. Why? I don't have a clue. Medicine is not my long suit. If any of you know, please chime in and explain.
Trustworthy official statistics out of the PRC are almost non-existent. The anecdotal evidence is loud and long. The only businesses that are going flat out are hospitals and crematoria. Crematoriums are going 24/7 and backed up 3+ months. As a general rule, everyone who dies in the PRC is required to be cremated. Things are so bad that the government has significantly reduced restrictions on burial. Unsanctioned rural burials have been going on for several years.
I can hear you thinking (some of you are strange), OK LP, so what is the REAL population of the PRC. Your guess is probably almost as good as mine. I'm pretty sure the real number is somewhere between 310M and 850M people. A better range would be 650-750M. If I had to hang my hat on a number, I would say that it is somewhere near 710M people.
Why, you say. The main reason is from looking at food imports. Given the horrendous weather, floods and droughts, the actual population can't be much above this number or we would be seeing reports of food shortages and famine. We are seeing reports of a lack of shoppers and not lack of food. The lack of population also explains the dismal personal consumption and the collapse of the housing market.
This is already getting too long. If enough people want a more complete explanation of any part of this Update I will post it. Thank you all for your interest in my ramblings. Consider it a small return on your investment in me over the years through your tax dollars.

Terrorists “were singling out non-Muslims from a large crowd of people who were in the Baisaran valley,” Indian news website The Wire reported Wednesday. “Highly placed source- and eyewitness-accounts collected by The Wire, some of which have been verified by officials, paint a horrifying picture of the carnage in which some victims were shot at point-blank range after their non-Muslim identity was confirmed by the gunmen, who were also apparently filming the attack with body cameras.”
India responded to the massacre by ordering Pakistani nationals to leave the country by April 29 and closing the main border crossing to Pakistan. “India announced a five-pronged diplomatic response following the Pahalgam carnage — one of the deadliest civilian attacks in the Valley in recent years — which included suspending the Indus Waters Treaty and scaling down diplomatic presence on both sides.”
