VIDEO AT LINK............

Well this is wild…

The Yankees made new bats that moved more of the wood into the label so the hardest part of the bat strikes the ball.

They have 8 home runs today. pic.twitter.com/CH2cOmvOh8— Joe Pompliano (@JoePompliano) March 29, 2025

I would have thought that the placement of the label would have been standardized for the greatest hitting average. It doesn’t change the bat itself, as far as materials go or anything. Same bat, just an optimized label placement.

..and with Aaron Judge's new OVERSIZED glove, perhaps he'll be able to catch a fly ball:

Pehaps Shohei Ohtani can school the Yankees on proper use of this bat!

“Clearly they knew how he signals his pictures.”

If that is the case, he won’t be around much longer as every team in baseball will know soon.

Maybe they were juicing the balls up, with super-ball centers, or something like that.   (Was Elon Musk's DOGE staffer "Big Balls" seen anywhere in the vicinity of that game?)

Thanks.

I remember a much earlier game where the Blue Jays shellacked the Orioles 24-10.
I came in from doing something else and kenew the Orioles were in trouble when the announcer intoned, “Harlow [the Center fielder] rocks and throws...”

The Dodgers have hit 12 home runs in 5 games, with the eighth inning is still going on in game 5.

Don't kid yourself... NOTHING has changed...the YANKEES are always POWERHOUSE until they are in the CLUTCH moments of the season ( WS Playoffs )... is when the YANKEES can't seem to produce the needed RUNS when necessary... Aaron Judge or NOT..

Only game I cared about (outside of Florida winning the West Regional Final), was the Savannah Bananas beating the Party Animals at sold-out Truist Park, in Atlanta.

Just wait until they play in Wrigley Field with those bats (hopefully with the wind not blowing out).

“Hmmmmm, you would think there to be a particular standard!!”

There is. It’s in rule 3.02:

3.02 The Bat
(a) The bat shall be a smooth, round stick not more than 2.61 inches
in diameter at the thickest part and not more than 42 inches in
length. The bat shall be one piece of solid wood.
NOTE: No laminated or experimental bats shall be used in a
professional game (either championship season or exhibition
games) until the manufacturer has secured approval from Major
League Baseball of his design and methods of manufacture.
(b) Cupped Bats. An indentation in the end of the bat up to 1¼
inches in depth is permitted and may be no wider than two
inches and no less than one inch in diameter. The indentation
must be curved with no foreign substance added.
(c) The bat handle, for not more than 18 inches from its end, may
be covered or treated with any material or substance to improve
the grip. Any such material or substance that extends past the
18-inch limitation shall cause the bat to be removed from the
game.

The rule states that no experimental bats made be used in a game so MLB had to have approved it prior to it’s use. So as long as the width of the bat doesn’t exceed the diameter rule at this new width location, it’s legal. But what it is going to cause is more pitching off the plate inside and outside to get away from the strike zone. And if the bat goes into mass use they are going to have to raise the mound, change the ball, make the strike zone bigger, and allow some illegal pitches to be used to control the batting influx. Even home run derby gets boring.
