Senate Dems, Others Agitate for Release of Hamas Supporter Mahmoud Khalil - Trump Fires Back
Red State ^ | 10 Mar, 2025 | Ward Clark

On Sunday, we reported on the arrest and pending repatriation of one Mahmoud Khalil, a Hamas-supporting agitator who has been attending Columbia University on a student visa. As we reported, Khalil has been detained, his visa and green card revoked, and he will be sent back to where he came from.

Now, Democrats from the Senate Judiciary Committee are announcing they are in favor of releasing Khalil — did we mention that he's a Hamas-supporting agitator? Their X post is three words:

Free Mahmoud Khalil.

President Trump was quick on the reply:

“This is the first arrest of many to come.” —President Trump

Earlier today, President Trump took to his Truth Social platform with more details:

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump

Following my previously signed Executive Orders, ICE proudly apprehended and detained Mahmoud Khalil, a Radical Foreign Pro-Hamas Student on the campus of Columbia University. This is the first arrest of many to come. We know there are more students at Columbia and other Universities across the Country who have engaged in pro-terrorist, anti-Semitic, anti-American activity, and the Trump Administration will not tolerate it. Many are not students, they are paid agitators. We will find, apprehend, and deport these terrorist sympathizers from our country — never to return again. If you support terrorism, including the slaughtering of innocent men, women, and children, your presence is contrary to our national and...

The president's post continues:

We will find, apprehend, and deport these terrorist sympathizers from our country — never to return again. If you support terrorism, including the slaughtering of innocent men, women, and children, your presence is contrary to our national and foreign policy interests, and you are not welcome here. We expect every one of America’s Colleges and Universities to comply. Thank you!

Supporting Hamas is supporting terrorism.

The Downfall of America by the “Democrats”.

First, they came for the Jews...
Then they came for Americans....

“ As we reported, Khalil has been detained, his visa and green card revoked, and he will be sent back to where he came from.”

When? Next week, month, year? That little prick should have been put on the next plane leaving America. Push him out the door over Venezuela. Everything we do is in slow motion.

My understanding is that he filed suit in NY but before the NY judge could issue his ruling to reinstate his green card he was moved down to Louisiana so the NY case is moot and he’ll have to file in Louisiana instead.

These are the things that slow things down.

Being a “terrorist sympathizer” is not a crime - it’s not even remotely a crime.

Not sure where DJT is going with this, I see very big downside for him and for MAGA.

Just to be clear, and as I’ve posted many times, I think the terms “terrorists” and “terrorism” are not meaningful for policy development. The quip “one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter” is an exaggeration, but not much of one.

I much prefer “enemy soldiers” and “enemy nations”. First of all, that opens up treason in the case of US citizens, and the laws of war in the case of enemy nationals, which are very valuable weapons. “Terrorist” gets you KSM in GITMO for 24 years while lawyers argue about his fate. “Enemy soldiers out of uniform” and “Traitors” gets you a firing squad or a rope, both much better alternatives.

But executive power to declare combatant groups in wars that do not involve the US as “terrorists”, and then to extend that power to punish fans of some faction or other in a foreign war is going WAY too far.

Ronald Reagan could have closed every bar in South Boston and deported thousands of IRA supporters during the Irish troubles, for example.

This guy Khalil is going to win his case and it isn’t going to be close. The damage to the President and to MAGA is going to be much larger thatn any good that can come of it.

I think his offences were unlawfully taking over a university building, organizing an unlawful tent encampment on campus and organizing the screening of students to prevent Jewish student from attending classes.

This guy Khalil is going to win his case, and it isn’t going to be close.

Khalil will be deported before he can win his case. And he should be deported.

He committed crimes of assault and vandalism as a participant in a violent "protest" and he is not an American citizen. His advocacy of a foreign terrorist group which is overtly hostile to America is a bonus reason to deport him.

The quip “one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter” is a deception used to paralyze resistance to genuine terrorist activities. One might also recall the quote that "a liberal is a person so open-minded he will not take his own side in an argument".

That perspective is self-destructive foolishness.

Will "our guys" abuse their power to fight "their guys"? Of course they will, eventually. That is a problem we will need to deal with. A hazard of fighting any predator is the prospect of becoming what you are fighting. The alternative of not fighting means becoming lunch for the predator.

There is no good reason to tolerate HAMAS sympathizers in our midst. If they are foreigners, they should be gone. No, we do not need to be "fair and open-minded" about this.

the US did not designate the real IRA as a terrorist organization until 2001. HAMAS has been a terrorist organization forbidden by immigration law that supporters and members can be regulated.

The US “designating” a “terrorist group” is part of the problem I have with this whole scenario.

If Kamala had won she would be designating FR as a “terrorist group”.
