My thoughts exactly.
We watched all three Season Three shows tonight. We thought they were boring and had poor scripts. The swimming in the ocean scenes were absurd.
Amen. He can kiss my a$$. Trump should sue him just like he did stephanopoĺus for such flagrant, false accusations.

Never saw or heard of him before “Reacher” first series. Saw the second one, doubt I’ll watch the third one now that I know what a leftist dick he his. I’ll say this, I thought he sucked as an actor even before I found out all this lefty stuff.

Yep. Pretty hokey and definitely not as good as the book or the first two seasons.
Reacher is dead to me- should have kept his mouth shut.

But if I only watched stuff made by people I agree with, I’d never watch anything at all.

Agreed. I tried reading the books but both books were so STUPID - the author believes military people move from base to base with just a suitcase each because military housing is all furnished by the government. That every military base is identical so military people can find their way around when moving to a new base. The plot holes were ENORMOUS: A bad guy hires a construction team from a small town, then kills them all to avoid paying them...and NO ONE in the town notices they didn’t return home?
The shows are also dumb. They are “Popcorn TV” - okay for watching provided you turn your brain off first and just ignore the massive holes so you can just enjoy Reacher kicking butt in a spectacular manner.
Most TV is like that. It has always been that way. I watch TV at times to spin down and relax, to NOT think about stuff before going to bed. Reacher is OK for that. MOST TV and movies, at best, are OK for that - and much of what is being made now isn’t even that level.
Alan Ritchson is not a deep thinker. He’s probably smarter than the average actor but that is a low standard. I don’t CARE if he doesn’t like Trump. If Alan Ritchson debated JD Vance on TV, it would be banned as cruelty to animals. He’s a former model turned actor who takes testosterone and bulks up so he can flex while playing a cartoon character.
Where I draw the line is assuming he is an example for Christians to emulate. But then, many PASTORS are not either! “Big EVA” - people like Russell Moore (Editor in Chief of Christianity Today and writer of “Losing Our Religion: An Altar Call for Evangelical America”) and formerly a bigwig in the SBC - have sold their souls while trying to tell all Christians how to live.
I’ll save my outrage for people who claim to be both highly intelligent and evangelical, who claim they should be leaders of Christianity in the USA, who have sold out for 30 pieces of silver.
When he’s acting I don’t care about his personal life or beliefs.
So Cruise being 5’7” weighing in around 170 is a perfect match for Reacher’s stats in all the books Lee Child wrote? I saw some out takes from Cruise’ Reacher movie and he’s a joke.

Alan was a year behind me in high school and we were both on the Speech and Debate Team.
We were not “adversaries” as I won debate championships and Alan did more acting stuff. As I recall, his older brother Eric won more often than Alan did.
He was always very nice to me (and everyone) and his mother, the computer lab monitor, loved me.
At her invitation, I even went to his dad’s retirement party from the Air Force. It was held at a karaoke bar called “lewbos” in Niceville where his dad sang “sittin on the dock of the bay.”
I sang “centerfold.”

But: I did recently re-watch the two Tom Cruise movies, as well as the first two seasons of Reacher the cable series.
Maybe it's not fair to compare the two: movies and made-for-cable mini-series are not the same thing, but I will.
The stories in both the movies are engrossing, and the characters are interesting. Including Cruise's Reacher character, but also all the other characters. They are nicely paced and don't feel like they have any filler in them. The sort of movie quality you would expect from a major studio employing one of the highest paid actors in the industry.
OTOH: The Reacher series just screams "cheap cable" production. There are all sorts of ridiculous fight scenes in it, some look like they were choreographed by Hong Kong guys.
The first season was a pretty good story, it got slow in places, but carried my interest unil the end. The second season was pretty bad, it felt like they were still writing the script as they filmed. Also, it lacked realism more so than the films.
So, while I love the character, and certainly agree that the TV guy is a better fit physically, as the author envisioned him, taken as complete works, I still much prefer the movies to the series.
If I don't watch Season 3 it won't be because I object to the actor's politics, it will be because it's just bored me with tedious stories that turned the franchise into a glorified "A-Team" where the plot is carried along by regular shootouts and martial-arts fights. (And the required "super badass girl fighter who can kick a guys ass twice her size". I mean I get that every Marvel Universe has to have that, but at least the back story there is they have super powers.
I'm sort of tired of that sort of thing in movies. (For instance "Lioness" season two was ridiculous and unwatchable due to this over-used plot device.)
