A scheduled purge of potentially thousands of Internal Revenue Service (IRS) employees scheduled to begin Thursday could “disrupt tax-filing season,” Politico reported on Wednesday evening.

Ellis told IRS employees on a video call, “We received notification today that employees in SB/SE who are on probation are scheduled for termination.”
In a separate call, she told workers she could not promise staffing cuts would not affect tenured employees.
According to The New York Times, as many as 6,000 IRS employees could be out of a job by the end of the week.

I received my rebate today after less than 3 weeks. The possibility of being fired seems to have lit a fire under the employees and made them want to display their efficiency and usefulness. Last year it took over 4 months.

Well, if they don’t abolish the IRS the LEAST they could do would be to computerize it so that it doesn’t take 80,000+ people to make it possible for people to file their taxes.

When Biden came into office, there were 80,000 IRS employees. When he left, there were 100,000.
