Was the pilot a DEI hire? He slammed the runway like he wanted to dig a hole in it.
“Was the pilot a DEI hire? He slammed the runway like he wanted to dig a hole in it.”
Certainly looks like DEI - never had a chance as she didn’t even try to raise the nose. I suspect that Canada will keep this under wraps for now.
Kind of looks like right side landing gear collapsed.
To find the truth we’ll need picks and jackhammers and dynamite. Everybody gear up.
Ya the pilot pretty much rammed into the runway, that was not a landing, that was a ramming.
{Wrong thread?]
Too low. Too hot.
It will be important to examine the pilot's credentials carefully. Was this individual "The Best" pilot for this flight?
Let's ask Keyra Lynn Johnson. She serves as Chief Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Social Impact Officer for Delta Air Lines.
I’ll be on a Delta plane in 51 hours unless the county insists on jury duty on March 10th.
Let’s just be thankful to God that everyone survived.
Good thing all the beverages were away and the trays in the upright position
Doesn’t look like a sudden downdraft of wind either. Just consistent coming down too fast and hard.
I’m surprised that airports don’t have HD cameras all over the place.
My plane was landing in Cali once (one of only two states I’ve flown to), and the pilot kept slamming the brakes so that we kept flying forward in our seats, three or four times before the plane stopped. The stewardess got on the intercom and said “My, what a smooth landing”. Then she explained that the pilot was new and in training. I guess they can’t all be veteran pilots.
The miracle that saved the lives of the passengers and crew was that both wings - which hold the fuel - were torn off.
Well, that WAS a helluvan impact, social or otherwise ...
I'm assuming that those hospitalized were the passengers who insist on unbuckling their seatbeats and standing up as soon as the wheels touch-down so that they can be first in the aisle to exit the plane ...
I think you’re right. To my eye, they definitely looked fast. Unless the video rate was not 1x.
Should have been a go-around.
I suspect the pilot realized he was coming fast and in the back of his mind the runway conditions were not optimum for stopping, and figured he had to get his wheels down as soon as possible so he could start braking and using the thrust reversers as early as possible on the runway, so he just went straight down to the runway instead of feathering the landing.
Was the pilot a DEI hire? He slammed the runway like he wanted to dig a hole in it.

My take on the accident is it was a gust of wind when he was just feet from the runway that lifted the left wing allowing the right wing to hit the ground breaking off which then allowed the wind to turn the plane upside down.
In other words an accident beyond the pilots control
But I am neither a pilot or an expert so I will wait for someone that knows more then either of us to explain what happened.
