My plane was landing in Cali once (one of only two states I’ve flown to), and the pilot kept slamming the brakes so that we kept flying forward in our seats, three or four times before the plane stopped. The stewardess got on the intercom and said “My, what a smooth landing”. Then she explained that the pilot was new and in training. I guess they can’t all be veteran pilots.
Who knows - put me in a different car and I’m jumpy on the brakes too. In your case, it still may have been the brakes, in some way (possibly a DEI mechanic?).
Try landing at Ketchikan and Sitka Alaska! First this is you slam onto the runway and the next thing is the pilot dynamites the brakes and reverse thrusters so hard your head will be touching the seat in front of you!
