Former Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz said in a new interview on Tuesday that it’s been “pure hell” since his party lost the presidential election last November.
Speaking with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, the Minnesota governor was asked what advice he’d give to “average people” who oppose the agenda President Donald Trump has implemented since he returned to office.
“You know that overused term, ‘The frog in the boiling water?’ We’ve been in the damn pot way too long,” Walz said.
“I think it is speaking up. It’s thinking about your neighbors. It’s writing and putting those members of Congress – look, there is no spine amongst those folks – but this is real.”
Walz then offered some sympathy to exhausted Democratic voters.
“To the voters, I’m with this too. Everybody’s fatigued. Trust me, I get it,” Walz said. “It was pure hell, and the disappointment and the frustration, and I’m, you know, soul-searching – what could we have done to make the case? Because we knew this was coming. We knew the implication. And they’re throwing so much at us that we’re fatigued.”
The Democratic governor went on to complain how the country spent three days debating whether billionaire Trump ally and Department of Government Efficiency co-founder Elon Musk, who he referred to “President Musk,” had given a “Nazi salute” at a Trump inauguration rally last week.
“Of course he did, but that is a distraction from what, I think you said it, this is ‘game on’ stuff right here,” Walz continued.

He should have asked for a primary instead of a selection.
What’s shocking is Walz and his kind think they’re the normal people.
thedems are populateed with many who are just ‘tired r’ss!
the dems stopped being dems with the poison of Hillary.
The Dems have a generational problem and they’re not addressing it. Their power layer is 60-85 yrs old, and they can’t hand power off to the younger generation because they are insane.
Walz’ supply of boys has dried up.
If the Democrats really had anything worthwhile to offer, they might have gotten voted in. When you have nothing or even worse, then you lose. Totally understandable in my opinion.
Oh, little Timmy. We get that it's exhausting to be so confused. Just stick to what you know best: fake nazi salutes, "Trump is Hitler, and your goofy oddball wife and dopey daughter.
Putz has to bare a lot of the blame for the loss. He was a detriment to the ticket. His creepy groomer vibe repulsed voters.
And THIS is the last I will have to read anything about this communist. Thank you president Trump!
Project much, ya weirdo?
Yep...almost like it was God's plan to defeat DNC/Communist evil.
He had to rip away the deception and blinders.
And many of us have been praying that the evil among us would be exposed, and as distressing as it is to see it, it IS an answer to prayer.
He has drawn yet another line in the sand and is compelling people to take sides.
At this point, NOBODY can say they didn’t know right from wrong or good from evil.
They will be very accountable on Judgment Day.
“ what could we have done to make the case?”
Oh but you did make your case. And it was soundly rejected.
L
His party was in office, controlling pretty much everything. So, who was boiling the water, Gov. Walz?
Yes the basics of why his party was formed.
You made your case just fine, voters rejected it.
‘So I would tell people stay focused’
= = =
I’ve been hearing this line from many Dems.
K Bass in LA, for one.
Oh gosh, Tim! It feels terrific to know you’re in pain.
But your key question, “What could we have been done to make the case?” is utter horse manure.
The whole point of the Harris/Walz ticket was to NEVER “make your case” known to the public or press. The failure of the Biden/Harris presidency was so horrific, it was a lost cause from the beginning.
