Martin Luther King Jr.’s family offered their response to President Trump’s decision to release the secret FBI files on the civil rights icon’s assassination nearly 60 years ago — a “deeply personal family loss” that they are still feeling today.
On Thursday, Trump signed an executive order to release the files connected to the deaths of King, President John F. Kennedy and his brother Sen. Robert F. Kennedy.
“For us, the assassination of our father is a deeply personal family loss that we have endured over the last 56 years. We hope to be provided the opportunity to review the files as a family prior to its public release,” the family said.
Trump said “everything will be revealed” while signing the executive order in the Oval Office.
The order called the release of the files “long overdue” and requires the Department of Justice and Office of the Director of National Intelligence to rapidly prepare for the release.

King’s family has continued to work toward a comprehensive investigation into the assassination, emphasizing the importance of uncovering the truth while also focusing on preserving the icon’s legacy, Fox Atlanta reported.

I agree with your wife and also think that anyone who believes the contemporary files actually still exist in entirety and accuracy hasn’t been paying attention to what our shadow government has been doing over the past 62 years. Get ready for “we can not locate those files any longer!” Nod nod, wink wink! Additionally since Trump is trying to clear things up, he should demand Congress release their records on the hush payments they have made for Congressmen’s (yes, I went to school when Congressmen was a collective noun including persons of both genders) indiscretions and legal issues riding therefrom. Any let’s not forget to release the entire Epstein documents now that he is no longer subject to litigation !! No my friends the cover-ups will continue despite the stroke of Trump’s pen!

This the kind of BS crap that pops up when the government keeps secrets. J Edgar was a nasty mean SOB. But he wasn’t crazy enough to assassinate an icon and touch off civil unrest that destroyed many cities some of which still haven’t recovered almost six decades later.

That's not how it works in a free country. MLK was a public historical figure. I'm guessing LBJ (as rumor has it a former KKK rider) might not be a democrat civil rights 'father'...and that democrats in the FBI were looking for dirt. We'll all know soon.
