Hamas has accepted a draft agreement for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of dozens of hostages, two officials involved in the talks said Tuesday. An Israeli official said progress has been made, but the details are being finalized.

The Associated Press obtained a copy of the proposed agreement, and an Egyptian official and a Hamas official confirmed its authenticity. The plan would need to be submitted to the Israeli Cabinet for final approval.

...three Israeli hostages will be released on the first day of the agreement, after which Israel would begin withdrawing forces from populated areas.

After a week, the terror organization will release another four hostages. At this point, Israel will begin allowing Gazans to move from the southern Strip to the north...

...At the same time, Israel will release hundreds of terrorists, some with blood on their hands. For each female soldier freed by Hamas, 50 terrorists will be released, including 30 serving life sentences for their crimes...

“How many terrorists will Israel be required to release?”

Now THAT is the question.

>>How many terrorists will Israel be required to release?

According to the article, about 50 for each of the 33 hostages they release in the first round (so that’s 1650 to start with), with more to follow for the other hostages.

This seems like a bad deal for Israel.

a framework laid out by U.S. President Joe Biden and endorsed by the U.N. Security Council

What could go wrong?

I'm not going to go back into the article to verify, but I think it said that under the deal Israel would have to release 50 terrorists for each of the 5 female Israeli soldiers being held.

It reads: “...would begin with the gradual release of 33 hostages over a six-week period, including women, children, older adults and wounded civilians in exchange for potentially hundreds of Palestinian women and children imprisoned by Israel.”

Trump said ALL, by his first day, so a 6 week timeframe will not do. LORD, put a hedge of protection around him, I pray, in the Name of Jesus, amen.

Reportedly Trump is pressuring Israel to take this horrible deal just so the hostage thing is off the table and he doesn’t have to deal with it. I understand the motivation, but it’s a big mistake.

Are the hostages even still alive at this point?

Sign the damn thing HAMAS. Your word is no better than Zelinski’s approval or that of Macron, Merkel, Biden/Obama on EU agreements.

What a load of crap. Some third party makes up an agreement to save Hamas and now Israel has to accept it? This is like me walking in to a bank with a gun saying “I have agreed to liberate the vault of all the money and it is now up to you to accept that.”

Hamas must be wiped off the face of the earth. Anyone and everyone who supports them fights for them funds them must be turned in to red goo.

Israel will get the handful of hostages in return for several thousand Hamas fighters and sufficient allocation of concrete to restore critical underground infrastructure. A very fair deal.

Release ALL hostages, or Israel (with Donald Trump’s help) unleashes hell.

Since when has Hamas, or any terrorist organization, kept any treaty with Israel for more than 5 minutes before violating it? I believe during October 7, they were also supposedly under the terms of a treaty. People thinking this time it will be different are dreaming. Hamas will simply use the time to re-arm.

Maybe, but you cannot fault anything that gets some hostages released. The number of terrorists does not really matter is the process, because when they show up in Israel they willbe killed anyway.
This may be the last hostages still alive.

Timing is as simple as it was in 1981 with the Iranian Hostages...

There is a new sheriff in town and they know it.

“Just why would anyone trust hamas? Insanity.”

The people in Gaza did. They voted them in and then allowed them to get rid of elections. And that’s why they are part of the blame for this. They are responsible.
