Hamas has accepted a draft agreement for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of dozens of hostages, two officials involved in the talks said Tuesday. An Israeli official said progress has been made, but the details are being finalized.

The Associated Press obtained a copy of the proposed agreement, and an Egyptian official and a Hamas official confirmed its authenticity. The plan would need to be submitted to the Israeli Cabinet for final approval.

The timing. Does that have anything to do with it?

Now for the 'final approval'. What if the Israeli Cabinet has other ideas like a 'final solution' regarding Hamas?

The Hamas negotiator should be found and killed immediately

As a member of Hamas, he has forfeited his right to live

How many terrorists will Israel be required to release? When will the terrorists kidnap the next batch of people, to get more terrorists released?

I get the sentiment, but won’t that make it harder to find future negotiators?

Negotiators are not needed if all of Hamas is dead and eradicated.

Think positive

And biden shamelessly sneaking in to take credit for it. Could no5 beleive what I heard h8m say yesterday 9n the issue. 450 or so days he did nothing but try to bind the hands of the Israelis and prevent them from defending th3ms3lves, and pres Trump isn’t even in office yet, a d hammas is scared to death that pres Trump will wipe them out if they don’t comply! 450 or so days Biden did nothing, and now he is claiming credit?

Evil never takes a day off I guess.

“The Hamas negotiator should be found and killed immediately”

You’re just not getting into the spirit of this thing. This is not a peace agreement, it is an opportunity to get the Israelis off their backs so they can resupply. Only the politicians are calling it a peace agreement.

It reads: “...would begin with the gradual release of 33 hostages over a six-week period, including women, children, older adults and wounded civilians in exchange for potentially hundreds of Palestinian women and children imprisoned by Israel.”

Among the 33 would be five female Israeli soldiers, each of whom would be released in exchange for 50 Palestinian prisoners, including 30 convicted terrorists who are serving life sentences. By the end of the first phase, all civilian captives — living or dead — will have been released.”

These women and children going back are just like the same ones Hamas was using for shields. The allies get 33 and Hamas gets hundreds to include 30 convicted terrorists who are serving life sentences. And those hundreds are probably getting better treatment than the 33 since it described them as living or dead.

Is there a promise not to do this again that can be trusted as that has been violated with attacks in Israel like missiles? Attacks began in 2001. Since then (August 2014 data), almost 20,000 rockets have hit southern Israel. The ink won’t be dry and the politicians will celebrate. Celebrate what?

Israel should say sure, we agree, get the hostages, then go right back in. Until every hostage is released and the bodies of those they have already killed are returned.

Yet anther lopsided hostage exchange in Hamas’ favor. Sends the wrong message to Israel’s enemies.

Good question, particularly given that the devil is in the details:

““This point requires concluding the second phase of negotiations,” the source said, noting that Hamas had agreed to a phased ceasefire and a withdrawal timeline. He stressed the importance of these guarantees, explaining that they link the prisoner exchange deal to measures aimed at preventing a resumption of hostilities during the agreement’s implementation.”

https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/4289782/posts

(note that in my linked post hamas was referring to the hostages as ‘prisoners’...strongly suggesting that their negotiations are NOT what was suggested in the JP headline...but that hamas is characteristically making demands which directly conflict with Israel’s stated goal of its post-10/7 ‘Operation Swords of Iron’ against hamas)

implant GPS tags in every terrorist release. And then as soon as we get the hostages, we target every terrorist released with a drone strike.

Don’t know if true, but on radio it was reported 50 hamas for one.

Note there is more to the negotiation. 50:1 hostage ratio?

The media never reports the who story. Hamas will be release we know that. Anyone confirm the ratio?

five female Israeli soldiers, each of whom would be released in exchange for 50 Palestinian prisoner

so 50:1 for female soldiers.

What is price of others?
