Between its barbecue, country music, national parks, and distilleries, Tennessee has some of the most defining traditions and characteristics in the country. While Nashville and Memphis are great places to experience Tennessee’s distinctiveness, some of the most intriguing traditions are found well outside city limits. Looking to discover a side of Tennessee like never before? These seven towns will definitely surprise you!

I was going to say Bucksnort You beat me to it.
Big fan of Copperhill, TN. Small, has a nice brewery (Buck Bald Brewing), only 4 miles from my place in N GA. YMMV

Look at this: An 8-inch "Jolene Dolly Parton" cast iron skillet:
While surfing between channels, I momentarily stopped on CNN. They were doing an interview regarding the Memphis police force which is, they said over 50% Black with a black chief. It focused on five black Memphis police officers who beat up on someone. They portrayed the officers as racist. So it must have been a white victim. < /sarc >
If’n ya don’ live here look around, buy our stuff then git.
Have a nice day!
Tennessee's a great state even if we can't get Arkansas to take Memphis off our hands.
Two of the most godawful ugly cities I have ever visited are in TN: Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
It’s about the Tyree Nichols beating:
https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/4126614/posts
Tyree was just some young black guy who moved to Memphis because his mom was here. He was a boxmaker at FedEx. I believe he needed to support his young daughter (I don’t know if he was a single dad). No criminal history.
The Cobra Unit which was set up to fight gangs pulled him over the beat the chit out of him for no good reason.
All the officers were black.
They outright murdered him on the streets, cracking his head open with a baton.
They’re on trial now.
Don’t forget the National Cornbread Festival, the last full weekend in April in South Pittsburg, Tennessee.
Here’s the song: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OWQMjAAzR8U
Bucksnort
Shake Rag
I see that the "Little Wharvey Gals" were performing...
Awesome surroundings, though.
My cousin OT Keenan was the city manager there in the 1970s
