Memphis isn't safe, Nashville is just overwhelmed with beggars, bums, and mentally ill on the main street asking for handouts.
Most all of East Tennessee is a good place to be....

My granddad and gramma used to live on Chikasaw Road, back when you could ice skate at the Metro Mall.

Memphis is a fantastic city, infrastructure wise.
Nashville is fine.
Memphis is completely different. Don’t come here unless you know what you’re doing.
When I retire I’m purchasing an armored personnel carrier to take tourists on “the ‘hood after dark” tours.
I believe I have to get a license for the Vulcan cannon though.
If you were in California, you could probably hire a Haitian or Somali to do the driving and tell the police the vehicle was a technical and therefore culturally permissible. Tennessee might be different.
