Joe Rogan. Elon Musk. Representatives of bro culture are on the ascent, bringing with them an army of disaffected young men. But where did they come from? Many argue that a generation of men are resentful because they have fallen behind women in work and school. I believe this shift would not have been so destabilizing were it not for the fact that our society still has one glass-slippered foot in the world of Cinderella.
Hundreds of years after the Brothers Grimm published their version of that classic rags-to-riches story, our cultural narratives still reflect the idea that a woman’s status can be elevated by marrying a more successful man — and a man’s diminished by pairing with a more successful woman. Now that women are pulling ahead, the fairy tale has become increasingly unattainable. This development is causing both men and women to backslide to old gender stereotypes and creating a hostile division between them that provides fuel for the exploding manosphere. With so much turmoil in our collective love lives, it’s little wonder Americans are experiencing surging loneliness, declining birthrates and — as evidenced by Donald Trump’s popularity with young men — a cascade of resentment that threatens to reshape our democracy.
When we think of Prince Charming, most of us probably picture a Disney figure with golden epaulets and great hair. In the Brothers Grimm version of “Cinderella,” he is called simply “the prince,” and neither his looks nor his personality receive even a passing mention. In fact, we learn nothing about him except for the only thing that matters: He has the resources to give Cinderella a far better life than the one she is currently living. Throughout much of Western literature, this...

I saw something very strange today. We are visiting family, and every day we try to get a couple miles of walking in. Today when we went, we saw a young lady, maybe in her 30’s, pushing a baby carriage. Not unusual on its own, until we got closer, and realized it was a doggy (with a bow) in the stroller. She was pushing a dog in a stroller!
Childless cat ladies immediately came to mind.
Reminds me of a few years ago when my wife and I were at Dollar Tree and saw a woman pushing a baby carriage with a doll in it.
Well, Kemala went to a podcast “Called me Daddy” where the most common topics were sexuality, flirting, etc
I think it all boils down to being comfortable in your skin with who and what you are.
I believe that is the reason there are far fewer Feminists on the Conservative side of the political spectrum. They hate and envy others more than they love themselves. It is a toxic formula, IMO.
In the end, Leftists just cannot stand themselves, and that reality manifests itself in behaviors and beliefs that cause others to often conclude they are mentally ill.
Nothing new for many of us. I can’t get what I want and don’t want what I can get. It’s as simple as that...destiny is to be a relatively well off lonely old man.

The only difference is an accelerated rate of hypergamy because of dating applications. Added to that is an increased acceptance of women to service the same guy.

There are higher expectations now and more options. The social pressure to marry doesn’t exist as it did through the seventies.

Your comment is far better than the article.
If you mean by “hypergamy” dating up, then yes most women would do that and the reason is in post #73
“Exactly. To provide for their children.”
Are there a number of women who would have sex with the same guy if he is successful. Sure there are some public examples. Is this common among women? I sincerely doubt it.
I would not say “it doesn’t exist as it did through the Seventies”, because the truth is, it doesn’t exist as it did through thousands of years of human existence.
The expectations and options are exactly what the Left wants people to see rather than the things that really count such as family.
The reason is, once they have convinced people to chase those “expectations and options” and destroyed the family, they can easily remove the “expectations and options” and all that is left for those people is The Party with no outside distractions from “expectations and options” or...family.
Talk to some college age males...or females for that matter. It isn’t unusual for one male to be servicing/seeing, whatever euphemism you like, several young ladies. Tinder and similar apps have guaranteed this.

I can take similar anecdotal evidence from people I know. I've known several women who dated successful men. None of them would date a guy who was also seeing other women.
Does that mean NO women are slutty enough to go to male whores? No, there are always exceptions in any population.
There was a time, in the Victorian Era, when men were expected to provide a rather lavish lifestyle for their wives.
This led to many joining the military and/or becoming “confirmed bachelors”.
It also led to many women living lives of poverty, a fair amount resorting to prostitution to stay alive.
Similar story today as men eschew marriage and family and women embrace box wine, cats, and OnlyFans.
No accountability from modern women who made this happen.
Actually, it's our fault for passing the 19th Amendment. The Founding Fathers did not have it in the original Constitution.
Looks like Carrie, before the prom.
