No matter what students bring to future "show and tells" at Orchard Junior School in the Southampton area of England, they will never be able to top this year's spectacle that shut down and evacuated the school.
One bonkers little tyke brought in a bit of vintage "unexploded ordinance" to show his mates.
The school quickly evacuated all the students, called the police, and texted the parents:
Schools are being closed & evacuated - please collect your child from Noadswood field ASAP.
Imagine getting that little note in the middle of the school day.
Laura Holloway, a mother of one of the students was at work at the time. She said,
It was so worrying. Another parent had called saying there were police everywhere. I knew my youngest would have been so scared.
But, she added:
Both schools seemed to deal with it all very well and had the kids lined up and checked off - it must have been very upsetting for everyone involved.
Once the students were out, the police showed up and sent in the bomb squad.
The police's full statement said: ‘We were called at about 1.30pm to a report that a child had brought what may have been a potentially unexploded ordnance to Orchard Junior School.
‘The school was calmly evacuated and a disposal team attended to take the item away to be destroyed as a precaution.'
Not an easy task by any means.
The real question everyone wants to know is "What kind of ‘historic incendiary device' are we talking about here?"
This is England after all. They've been blowing stuff up and getting blown up for centuries.
It could've been anything from a 16th-century mortar to a WWII hand grenade to that morning's beans on toast.
Try not to overinterpret ...
Since our cat died last November, we can assume we won’t be finding dead rabbits this spring.
Good morning, and Happy Easter!
Amen...
I’ll try. No guarantee of success...
Wishing y’all a very blessed Easter.
Thank you, and the same to you.
Thank you!
This fine Birdie on 3 somewhat soothes the sing of my debacle on 2.

Happy Easter, Silentgypsy.
Happy Easter, zzeeman.
Happy Easter Tax-chick.
Happy Easter ArGee.
I hope you had a good Easter, N-T-I.
We had a very peaceful day, here. It’s too bad young ArGee couldn’t have stayed a couple of more days for it, but that’s the trouble with a big day being on a Sunday.
Good morning. Happy Monday!
It’s still trying to be spring here. We had a lot of rain on Saturday but a nice Sunday. This morning was a little cooler, but not cold, and it’s warming up.
Mrs. ArGee has almost finished sorting her parents bedroom. For some reason she’s upset that her sister might want to get her forced out of the role of Executor. I’m thinking that would be a favor and anyone who would try to do that is an idiot. Maybe there would be some thing that the sister would just take that should have been shared with the entire family, but it seems the risk of that is less than the stress of the job. Anyway, I’m sure when probate is filed it will all be fine.
The estate attorney is suggesting we want to have the house on the market before the fall. I’m thinking there’s no way to go through everything in that amount of time. But we’ll see.
I was a little disappointed in the Wordle word on Saturday. I didn’t realize it was an official word.
I had a tough initial shot off the tee this morning which put me almost at the edge of tha chasm on the left. I had a hard time finding a stance that would work. The resulting shot put me in the rough before the last cut-out. I managed to hit up on to the green from there, but too far away for a good putt. So the 2 strokes to the cup gives me a bogey for the hole.

Good Monday Morning!
Hoping that everyone enjoyed Easter weekend... it cleared up here by the end of the day and we actually saw a bit of sunshine into the evening...
Rough (a 5 and a 6) Wordle weekend... I agree that Saturday’s was a surprise ‘word!’ I was certainly glad that they were practice holes...
A decent shot from the tee (avoiding the sand!) left me with an easy 20 yard chip up onto the green... it was a fairly easy putt and I watched it fall in for the Par 3...

Heading to the 5th hole at two under...
Happy Monday...
Line drive off the tee set me up for a perfect shot to the green. It was a breathless moment to see if it would roll all the way to the pin, but it stopped just short. Tap of the putt and sunk to close out the hole.
