That $400M should get those guys through retirement.
I wonder how they divvy it up. Based on longevity with the band? Based on number of songs you wrote? Based on whether you were a founding member? Based on which instrument you played? Based on your popularity with the fans? Based on how much trouble and turmoil you caused? If somebody joined for only a few years after their popularity peaked, does that person get a small cut?
I could see a real challenge calculating who gets what amount.

Probably would have gotten $500 million during the salad days of Trump.

Key sentence —
“Gilmour recently told Rolling Stone that he was interested in a sale less for financial reasons than “to be rid of the decision making and the arguments that are involved with keeping it going,” which he described as “my dream.”

Greedy bastards! Wouldn't allow Shout! Factory to include the slice of Dogs from their Animals album on the classic Thanksgiving episode for WKRP in Cincinnati. No amount of money would change their decision, according to insiders. Screw 'em.

And with that divisive issue behind them, Watters and Gilmour can finally become friends again.

All these “idealistic” hippy-dippy 60’s artists (Dylan, Springsteen, Neil Young, Pink Floyd) grabbing the almighty dollar from their catalogues.
Ain’t saying they’re wrong for cashing out, but they’ve made a career selling the gullible public the ideals of socialism (in their lyrics and public pronouncements) while reaping huge rewards from capitalism. Total phonies.

I would not be surprised if all the pink Floyd songs start disappearing on you tube.

After years of false starts, the iconic British rock band Pink Floyd has agreed to sell their recorded-music and name-and-likeness rights to Sony Music for approximately $400 million
I'm surprised they got that much, as the listener base for Pink Floyd (like me) gets older and dies off.
