Tucker Carlson recently had Darryl Cooper on his podcast to discuss history. The most prominent talking point of Cooper, a historian of sorts, was the ostensibly avoidable nature of the Second World War. It’s not a new thesis; there has always been an American polemic that the United States’ involvement in WWII was unnecessary and unwinnable. Charles Lindbergh and the 1930s America First movement did not think the United States’ involvement was inevitable. A long and often-times inconsistent tradition of Anglophobia convinced many Americans—Lindbergh being the most notable—that Great Britain was tricking the United States into a war it had no stake in. What makes Cooper interesting, and worrisome, is the way he sees Winston Churchill as a primary aggressor in the Second World War instead of the nakedly genocidal, tyrannical, and racist Führer of Germany, Adolf Hitler. Churchill’s warmongering—if one insists on calling it that—was in the defense of the conservative and even nationalist European system against Nazi imperialism.

Everyone knows Churchill was all for bombing Dresden, but at least Churchill was killing HIS OWN troops, like the Russians did.
World War II was a byproduct of World War I ‘the original sin’ making it unavoidable.
“ The west wanted that war just like they want this war in Ukraine. ”
Utter foolishness.
And many more Jews would have died. What we should not have done, is let thevRussians take Berlin first. Patton wanted too. Ike wouldn’t let him.
Hitler’s goal was to kill every Jew. He was carrying out Satan’s plan to prevent YESHUA from coming back. Because he won’t come back until Israel cries out in sorrow and repentance, and accepts him. All these evil ones are types of the Beast.
There is definitely an intersection between the Churchill haters and Hitler fan club. Most of these contrarian nutjobs are at least smart enough to keep their Hitler fetishes in the closet. They all saw what happened to David Irving and chose their words carefully now.
Maybe that should have been Hitler's goal but that was not actually his goal. Hitler declared war on the United States on his own right after Pearl Harbor. One of the great blunders in history.
Yes. It’s quite noticeable that the Churchill haters never say anything bad about Hitler.
Patton absolutely could have reached Berlin had Eisenhower allowed it. But then what? The German troops between Patton and Berlin were demoralized. They would have put up little resistance to Patton.
But the German troops in Berlin were under Hitler’s direct control. It cost the Soviets 360,000 dead, wounded, or missing to take that city. Patton probably would have had similar casualties.
That would have given us a bigger chunk of Germany. But Stalin still had the rest of Eastern Europe. Worth it?
Side story: I knew a guy who was in a foreign SS unit during the Battle of Berlin. He was a janitor in a building where I worked. This was back in the 1970s. Guy never did smile much.
Both Churchill and Hitler were eugenicists. I’m thinking they both diddled small boys also.
Adolf Hitler's Favorite Flower Is the Simple Edelweiss--Harry Steier (1934)
Very strange.
The Germans were the bad guys. Sorry bud. It was bad they started the war and good that they lost in the end.
It’s said that had Hitler died in 1938 he. Would have been recognized as one of Germanys great statesman.
Before 1938 was before WWII and the Holocaust but by the start of 1938 Hitler had already murdered a few thousand Germans, and set up concentration camps - Dachau, Buchenwald, Sachsenhausen - across Germany.
WW2 started during Churchill’s “time in the wilderness” when he held no government position. Immediately after declaring war, Chamberlain appointed Churchill as First Lord of the Admiralty.
What do you think would have happened if the Nazis got control of the Royal Navy, with Japan breathing down our necks in the Pacific?
Until he made the dumb move to d3clear war on us. End of him.
What Hitler didn’t realize was that Japan had no interest in fighting the Russians, which Hitler thought they would do if he declared War on the US.
The Japs were pissed at Hitler for the Non-Aggression Pact with the Soviets, and blamed it for the loss to the Soviets at the Battle of Kalkhin Gol in 1939. Japan signed their own Non-Aggression Pact with the Soviets as a result.
