ABC News released the rules for next week’s presidential debate between Trump and Kamala Harris.
According to ABC, both Trump and Harris agreed to the rules.
The debate is scheduled for September 10.
The Debate Rules per ABC News:
The debate will last 90 minutes with two commercial breaks
The two seated moderators, David Muir and Linsey Davis, will be the only people asking questions
A coin flip was held virtually on September 3 to determine podium placements and order of closing arguments; Trump won the coin toss and chose to select the order of statements. He will offer the last closing statement, and Harris selected the right podium on screen (stage left)
Candidates will be introduced by moderators
Candidates will enter upon introduction from opposite sides of the stage; the incumbent party will be introduced first
There will be no opening statements; closing statements will be two minutes per candidate
Candidates will stand behind the podiums for the duration of the debate
Props or prewritten notes are not allowed onstage
No topics or questions will be shared in advance
Candidates will be given a pen, a pad of paper, and a bottle of water
Candidates will have two minutes to answer questions, two minutes for rebuttals, and one extra minute for follow-ups, clarifications, or responses
Candidates’ microphones will be live only for the candidate whose turn it is to speak and muted when the time belongs to another candidate
Candidates will not be permitted to ask questions of each other
Campaign staff may not interact with candidates during commercial breaks
Moderators will seek to enforce timing agreements and ensure a civilized discussion
There will be audience in the room
The Harris campaign last Monday requested both candidates’ mics be unmuted for the entire 90-minute debate.

Trump isn’t allowed to complain when his mic keeps shorting out.
Trump is not allowed to refer to the VP as Karma or Karen.
Trump will not be allowed to set his podium a safe distance from all teleprompters.
No rule against “ear pieces”?
Harris can’t say, “I’m speaking.”

Despicable, this is not a debate but a press conference. But the good news is that President Trump with his two minutes will have plenty of time to ask the mods why THEY didn’t ask said question.

Trump needs to ask that witch the names of the 13 that her and Joe helped kill just so he could have a political Sep 11 event.
And, moderators will answer questions for Kamalies if the questions are too tough.

No the audience has a purpose to kill time. The longer they clap the shorter time span for the kammunist to answer the questions….running out the clock. Might be a short escape route for the cackling hyena. I hear when she gets nervous she cackles so I hope Trump does his job.
I have a good idea. Biden was allowed to fail in a very public way. This was to make way for Harris. I think we’ll see that strategy repeated. The dumping of Harris won’t happen immediately tho. There will be a lag long enough to make her look incompetent. At the last possible moment the real candidate will replace Harris. This makes certain they can’t be vetted or deeply questioned. That replacement will be Big Mike.

Yes agreed. He needs facts and proposals. And one thing he never mentions but I think he should, is that the Abraham Accords came about because he tried to settle the Israel-Palestinian conflict. He went with an offer of regional economic stimulus He couldn’t get the Israel/Palestinian part of the deal done, but he tried, and he got other peace deals done along the way. He has a track record of accomplishment, (and this topic will surely be brought up). He can’t just say “it never would have happened” has needs to say something about how he achieved an historic peace with 5 countries and when elected he will go back and try to finish the deal with the other regional players. - Biden/Harris did worse than nothing, they offended the Saudis and emboldened the Iranians which is why the region is in the mess they are in right now. (Not to mention Harris allowed thr expiration of the Petrodollar deal).
Biden/Harris undid nearly all of his achievements seemingly out of spite (Middle East, Ukraine, Border security, oil production etc…). All of this was pure folly by the democrats and has led to unnecessary death and conflict and economic problems. On Ukraine he made a phone call to ask about corruption that Biden basically admitted to in a speech, and got impeached for that phone call - and now look at what a mess they are in.
He needs to get more specific and remind people of what he accomplished and that he can go back and get a lot more done on every front just by going back to the policies he had and that Harris undid for no reason other than spite.
