(CNN) — Consuming a drink with erythritol — an artificial sweetener used to add bulk to stevia and monk fruit and to sweeten low-carb keto products — more than doubled the risk of blood clotting in 10 healthy people, according to a new pilot study.
Clots can break off blood vessels and travel to the heart, triggering a heart attack, or to the brain, triggering a stroke. Previous research has linked erythritol to a higher risk of stroke, heart attack and death.
“What is remarkable is that in every single subject, every measure of platelet responsiveness (clotting) went up following the erythritol ingestion,” said lead study author Dr. Stanley Hazen, director of the Center for Cardiovascular Diagnostics and Prevention at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute.

Not to mention the memory loss.
It was literally on their menu as: "Why Bother?"
Zero calorie sweeteners have been around for decades with no apparent issues. Now this?
I have to wonder if sweeteners are now being blamed for the increase in heart attacks and strokes actually caused by the clot shot.
My science is getting a bit rusty but isn’t a study of TEN people a little on the “light side”?
Pun intended …..
Some years ago he had a kidney transplant. His son gave him the kidney. I don’t think that was from the sweetener but who knows.
I always go to weather sites for health information. /s
No. Only thing causes blood clots is covid vaccines. Are you not reading posts here?
Clotting problems were around long before the mRNA shot.
Sedentary behavior is the biggest cause. Sitting at a desk without moving for hours on end is the worst of the worst.
“ My science is getting a bit rusty but isn’t a study of TEN people a little on the “light side”?”
Now you have done it.
Bringing common sense into the discussion !
In my early days of going low-carb, I used to use Splenda and other articial sweeteners in my coffee and water. Once I got used to drinking my coffee black and my water plain, I never got the urge to put sweeteners in my drinks again.

In response to the study, the Calorie Control Council, an industry association, told CNN that 30 years of science has shown erythritol to be a “proven safe and effective choice” for sugar and calorie reduction.
“Consumers should interpret the results of this pilot with extreme caution. The limited number of participants, a total of 10, were given an excessive amount of erythritol, nearly quadruple the maximum amount approved in any single beverage in the United States,” the council’s president, Carla Saunders, said in an email.
Who paid for the study?
The Saccharine Institute.

‘Equal’ is bad stuff .... has aspartame in it .... no erythritol.
Equal sweetener contains dextrose, aspartame (1.7%), acesulfame potassium (1.2%), starch, silicon dioxide (an anti-caking agent), maltodextrin, and unspecified flavouring1. It is made from dextrose with maltodextrin, aspartame, and acesulfame potassium2. Other Equal products such as Spoonful, Pink, Yellow, Flavors and Equal Plus sweeteners do not contain erythritol
Everything else is going to be blamed for the increased blood clots except the Clot Shot that’s actually causing them.
Research sponsored by the sugar industry...just kidding I don’t know who sponsors such reseacher
