This year all 32 NFL teams will start using facial recognition to verify the identity of people entering the stadium.
This is a clip that was posted recently on the Dallas Cowboys website. It shows how easy it is to identify someone in these large crowds.

Not sure of the technology used, something with a cellphone. A friend of our family had a pretty good idea his sisters husband was cheating on her. The brother and husband worked at the same corporation Whatever, the husband had a “business” trip planned to Florida and he said there was a group of guys going to a football bowl game. The brother somehow captured photos of the husband and his girlfriend in the stands. Ended a fifteen year marriage.

Ahh but how do they know you’ve paid and not stolen somebody else’s ticket or just straight up snuck in?
And how do they know you’re not on a banned list?

The fact is it’s still their building and their business and they get to run it and secure it how they want.
And it’s not like any of this stuff was new. The cameras have been there for decades. They’re just running the pictures through big data now instead of just using eyeballs.

Why do you say that? I went to a football game at least six or seven years ago, and you could go to a link and see your picture, clear as day, as you sat in your seat. I saw my own picture, completely viable for face recognition, as well as those of my friends.
I assume you take issue with the way it was presented rather than the capability or content?
They are using it to verify access to restricted areas. Badged personnel have to submit a prior photo which will be matched to their face.

Why?
I guess it’s just me, but I welcome facial rec to be used in case someone commits a crime in a crowded area or in order to verify only employees are able to get to sensitive parts of the venue.
At least for now......

Okay. So it is the way it was presented? I assume you would concede that not only is this imagery being done, but that it is being analyzed, for our protection, of course.
