Jennifer Aniston has criticised Donald Trump’s vice-presidential candidate, JD Vance, for resurfaced comments calling Democrats a "bunch of childless cat ladies with miserable lives".
The Friends actress, 55, posted a 2021 interview with Mr Vance that has been widely shared since his selection as Mr Trump's running mate for November's presidential election.
"I truly can’t believe that this is coming from a potential VP of the United States," she wrote on Instagram. "All I can say is… Mr Vance, I pray that your daughter is fortunate enough to bear children of her own one day." Mr Vance has a two-year-old daughter, and two sons. "I hope she will not need to turn to IVF as a second option," Ms Aniston wrote.
"Because you are trying to take that away from her, too." 'Country miserable'
The actress has previously spoken openly about her struggles while trying to have children through in-vitro fertilisation (IVF).
Last month, Mr Vance voted to block Democrat-proposed legislation to guarantee access to IVF nationwide. In the clip, Mr Vance criticised Vice-President Kamala Harris because she has no biological children.
Ms Harris is stepmother to her husband Doug Emhoff’s two children.
But Mr Vance told former Fox News host Tucker Carlson the US was run by "a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they've made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable too".
"Look at Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, AOC [Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez], the entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children," he said. "How does it make any sense we've turned our country over to people who don’t really have a direct stake in it?"

This is a distraction. Will it help us? Who knows. But it keeps the rally’s, issues, etc., off the media. We barely get media and when we do, it’s junk like this.

I totally get where Atwood thought she was going with this, and I’ve loved her stories since I was a teen.
But, this one is Must Read as a WARNING as to what Mother Government (or any Totalitarian Regime) can do to YOU whenever she wants to.

the thing that makes memes such as cat ladies funny is the element of truth in the hyperbole. cat ladies are ladies with cats who object to being called ladies with cats.

That's like a business insulting potential customers (think Bud Lite or Target). It's just plain stupid.
Then Vance should lean into his comments - and repeat them. Right? The path to victory for President Trump is to tell that group of potential voters their votes are not needed.
I actually agree with JD about this. But I think the vetting could have found this and maybe thought about if this was a good idea for a candidate for Vice President. He’s definitely getting the Palin treatment.
But that said, if it comes up in an interview, he can have a snappy rejoinder ready to neutralize that comment.
It's like when Trump was asked in debate if he thought all women were "pigs, slobs and dogs.”
His perfect comment was, "Only Rosie O'Donnell."
I read the book, too, when it was first published. It was a great piece of dystopian fiction. I read it a few times.
I never watched the TV series. From what I can tell, the TV series seems to have changed the plot and missed the whole point of the original story.

Funny - I was just telling someone about that Trump comment (”Only Rosie O’Donnell”) the other day.
I’m sure Vance also will come up with a good line in response to all the hoopla.
