(Jul. 22, 2024) — Trump will have the legal standing in federal courts to do so if she is nominated for that office by the DNC. And Trump should do so to force SCOTUS to take up the issue of the “natural born Citizen” term as it applies to whom can constitutionally serve as the President and Commander in Chief (and VP per the 12th Amendment) and resolve it. The courts evaded the issue using “lack of standing by the plaintiffs” for Obama and then also for Harris for VP. They should not do that again. Former Chief Justice Marshall‘s words from the past tell them they should not evade the issue.

Also, there is deliberate historical misdirection on this issue, primarily from William Rawle back in the 1820s.
The legal system never adequately dealt with Rawle's efforts to mislead people, because back in those days, it had no significant impact.

The questions are:
1) Where was she born? Not in the U.S., right?
2) Were her parents U.S. citizens at the time she was born? No, right?
If those are the correct answers, then she is not an NBC (natural born citizen) and should be prevented from running for President.

There is strong circumstantial evidence that Obama was born in White Rock Canada, and is not an American citizen at all.
So it's both embarrassing, *AND* a "Natural Born Citizen" issue.

People always think that our modern deference to the mother regarding the citizenship of her offspring has always been the way it is now.
This isn't true. Women could not transfer citizenship to children until the Cable act of 1922. Prior to that time, only the father's citizenship mattered.
The way it worked from 1776 onward was that the FATHER determined citizenship, and anyone marrying an American father automatically received American citizenship.
Therefore, if you had an American father, it didn't matter at all what the mother was before, she too was an American citizen before you were born.
This system is pretty well spelled out in the Naturalization act of 1795, and I think also in the naturalization act of 1790.
