Michael Mortiz, a major Democratic donor, has joined the calls for President Biden to drop out of the presidential race against former President Trump.
With his public comment, Mortiz — a billionaire Silicon Valley venture capitalist — becomes one of the Democratic party’s largest contributors to pressure Biden to suspend his campaign.
“Sadly, President Biden has a choice — vanity or virtue,” Mortiz said in an email Friday to The New York Times. “He can either condemn the country to dark and cruel times or heed the voice of Father Time. The clock has run out.”
The Times noted that Mortiz has given $7.8 million to pro-Biden and anti-Trump initiatives in the 2024 election cycle so far. Most of it, about $6.8 million, went to American Bridge PAC, which runs anti-Trump advertisements in battleground states.
In another email to the Times, Mortiz said all of his donation to the Democratic Party, not just Biden, was now on hold.
“I would vote for Biden, but I would not give another penny to any fund-raising appeals from Democrats,” he said.
Mortiz joins a growing list of Democratic donors who have urged the president to suspend his campaign. Netflix’s co-founder and executive chairman Reed Hastings has also doubled down on his call for Biden to withdraw. Bill Harris, the former CEO of Paypal, recently said he thinks it’s inevitable that the incumbent step aside.
Whitney Tilson, a major investor for Democrats, said it’s “highly unlikely” that Biden can beat Trump in November. Tilson told ABC News that “even the wealthiest people have limitations on money” and will hold his donation in order to support a new candidate.

This is beginning to look orchestrated.
Have Biden clear the primary field, create an event that shows the nation that he’s lost his faculties (an oddly early debate), replace him with only a couple of months left in the campaign (so his replacement cannot be adequately vetted), continuing the witch hunt against Trump (up to and including Butler PA), and win the 2024 presidential election through massive ballot fraud.

In my opinion, if the Biden’s had already received their group pardon, the whole bunch would have skedaddled out of town. All those knives in Joe’s back tells Dr. Harpy to trust no one about the pardons. Immediate full pardons for all Bidens is probably the price. What candidate wants to complete the campaign having just let off the entire crime family? The Harpy and Hunter are choosing freedom or jail.

I’ve been watching the Young Turks lately since they are melting down over Biden staying in the race. This morning watching them, Obama’s statement “Never underestimate Joe’s ability to f things up” popped into my head. He is screwing the Dems in a major way.
Dems have plenty of vanity, but wirtue is mighty scarce.
Still ignoring the elephant in the room.
We are no longer a republic.
Be a single issue voter.
Restoration of our republic comes first.
If we don’t accomplish that, the rest is moot.

These rich donors just don’t get it. Today’s Democrat party is not the party of JFK or even Bill Clinton. It’s the party of AOC and like-minded radicals.
Should the Democrats gain permanent power, rich folks would be taxed to death. After all, someone must pay for a socialist paradise. I suppose Mortiz could still be a venture capitalist, be any profits would be declared obscene, and seized by the government.
Maybe folks like Mr. Mortiz should spend an evening watching ‘Dr. Zhivago’.
I don’t agree here, Schumer, Pelosi, Obama, all want Biden out, they are inline with Deep State. Also there’s the story about the more than 48 top intel peeps (probably the same 51 pricks that said Hunters laptop story was Russian disinformation) also saying he should step down. Deep State surely likes the easily manipulated Biden right now, but can read the tea leaves that Biden might not even make it to November & him staying in the race might cost the Dems to lose. I believe deep state will go all in for Kamala.
He can do secret pardons and no one has to know about it...so the pardons aren’t the issue.
A president has never pardoned himself before. At the very least, the question of whether he can would end up heading to the Supreme Court while Joe and the family anxiously twisted in the wind. Dr. Harpy is waiting to hear they are all getting Ford style pardons.
