America Officially Dethrones It’s Top-Selling Beer. All Hail The New King!
Daily Caller ^ | JULY 19, 2024 | KAY SMYTHE

Congratulations, America. We are wrapping up one the wildest, most historical weeks in modern history with a huge win: Bud Light is officially dethroned as our No. 1 beer.

All Hail the new King Modelo Especial!

After Bud Light’s leadership decided to utterly destroy their brand and careers by hiring Dylan Mulvaney — a biological male who dresses up as a horrendously insulting parody of a woman — as their brand ambassador, America bit back by deciding to boycott Bud’s bullsh*t. Modelo Especial is officially America’s top choice of beer, ending a decades-long rule by Bud, according to The Wall Street Journal.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times while we scrambled to find our replacement redneck brew. In the joys of dethroning Bud Light, something pretty tragic happened. Americans turned to Michelob Ultra. The beer has reportedly come in second behind Modelo Especial. I’m considering a deep-dive investigation into why so many of my fellow countrymen hate themselves enough to drink this stuff. But then again, I am partial to a White Claw, so perhaps we’re all trash?

But at least we’re not Bud Light trash anymore!

I wouldn’t be surprised if Bud Light stops being a thing within the next year or so. There’ve been some solid attempts to rebrand, but the damage seems to have been done.

Who was the person who said, “Boycotts don’t work”?

Why anybody drinks that mass-produced corporate swill is beyond me when there are thousands of great local breweries producing fantastic beer every day. About 20 years ago, I remember reading that there were more breweries in America than there were in 1900 when the large, mass beer companies started taking over.

Or maybe more relevant..."It was the best of beers, it was the worst of beers"?

Well, according to our deer camp, same group for over 50 years, 2 bud lights will get you 1 Miller lite, but it takes 3 mick ultra to get 1 Miller lite...

Part of it is price. The craft beers are more expensive.

The second is availability. Most local beers are available in a few local bars. No matter how many beers they sell there the sheer lack of a nationwide audience will mean that they will always be way down the list.

Sadly a lot of the small local companies will end up being bought up by larger companies because they may know how to brew but they have no idea how to run a business.

You need three people in a company, the expert who makes the product, the seller who sells the product and the business guy who makes sure all permits are filed, all bills paid and collections done.

Most young companies lack the business person.

Way to stick it in InBev, that’ll teach them.

What I've been saying since it all went down. AB Inbev is and will be just fine, and they have been. They could drop the BL line altogether and it wouldn't hurt them in the slightest. They are being smart about it, because they know, eventually, America will forget. It already is. And AB has ditched the woke nonsense, at least in their marketing, for now. The likes of Kid Rock & Shane Gillis being paid to pimp it out now. It will work. In the meantime, the biggest blowback was losing about $20/share over the ensuing months, but they have just about made that up once again.

Somehow we scored some big victory though? Lmao.

I don’t like ‘lite’ beer of any kind. Thick, dark and full bodied beer is my style. But then I don’t drink any more these days.............😥

“The craft beers are more expensive.”

Yes, they have gotten crazy expensive, no doubt. I’ve seen a proliferation of 19 ounce cans selling for $4 PER CAN lately. Fortunately for me, I can drink one of those 8% - 9% ABV cans over two nights. Nine ounces of beer is plenty for me, so $2/day is affordable.

But, yeah, if you’re a guy who knocks back 4 - 6 12-ounce cans, the craft beers just aren’t affordable.

I’ve seen lots of craft breweries get gobbled up. One of the first was Gordon Biersch in Palo Alto, CA close to 40 years ago. Then my beloved Anchor Steam in San Francisco went out of business.

I find craft beers in almost every supermarket these days, even in small towns.

I can’t print here what my husband said about Bud Light (Coors too for that matter).

Modelo got a huge boost from the UFC:

“As of 2018, Modelo Especial is the official beer of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in the United States, replacing Bud Light.”

AFAIK, it still is. Wise decision, Dana White.

Keep your eyes on the prize.

This isn’t about the ‘best tasting beer’. It’s a message to the sexual weirdo community that if they push too hard we will push back and there’s a hell of a lot more of us than of them.

As an aside, I don’t care what people do in the privacy of their bedrooms (as long as it doesn’t include children, death, etc) but I DO CARE about what people do on our public streets, in public libraries, in front of children or using their ‘kinks’ to secure jobs they’re not qualified for.

It’s time to stand up to these folks...the gay community needs to explain to their extremests that people are fed up with this crap/
