Here are the Democrats who could replace Biden on the ticket

Speculation is swirling around President Biden’s political fate — and over who might replace him on the Democratic ticket this fall should he decide to drop out of the race.

Biden has insisted he’s in it to win it, and Vice President Harris would have the inside track on becoming the party’s standard-bearer, but Democratic concerns are growing that his candidacy could cost them the White House and House majority this fall.

Though a highly anticipated Thursday evening press conference after the NATO summit in Washington, D.C., was seen as a better performance for Biden than in recent weeks, the president still stumbled at several points with multiple notable gaffes.

The number of sitting lawmakers calling on the president to withdraw has grown since, and scrutiny is rising on the Democrats who could replace him on the ticket.

Here’s a look at the leading contenders:

Vice President Harris

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer

California Gov. Gavin Newsom

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear

Maryland Gov. Wes Moore

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg

Better hurry up - the clock's tickin' away. Mad Maxine didn't make the cut? Strange.

That group will be running for 2028. It’s either Biden or Harris.

Yes, Maxine Waters or else the list is racissss.

How about Minnie Mouse?
More intelligent than Kamala, lots of name recognition. Could boost Disney profits and maybe swing Florida to the D column. The View could do adoring interviews, wiping away tears of worshipful support for her.

Exactly. The Dems should concede 2024 to Trump and run Kamala. She’ll lose — bigly — and fade away, while Toothsome Newsom and the other Dem hopefuls keep their political powder dry for 2028.

If Kamila chose Hillary, Kamila wouldn’t live long if they got elected.

That’s how they could get rid of Kamala. No one likes a loser.

Of that list Shapiro and Beshear will be formidable candidates. I wouldn’t waste them in a likely loss to Trump this year.

*************

We don’t know who they would pick & neither do the democrats.

The new VP would have to be approved by the House & Senate by a majority vote. The Republicans currently hold the House and could nix any VP they don’t like.
Even if they get a VP through, that VP could get replaced at the convention.(Hypothetically, so could Harris but it won’t happen.)

I think they’ll keep riding with the “Weekend at Bernie’s” guy because they don’t have a choice or a plan at the moment.

wishful thinking. The list of Democrats who could replace Biden is as follows:

Heels Up Harris

that's it. Really. She's the VP. She's president if they choose to invoke the 25th amendment. She is the only one who can access the campaign cash. She's a "woman of color" when Black women are the most dedicated voting block in the Democrat coalition. You are not skipping over a Black woman with a White man. Not in the Democrat party. No way. Anybody who thinks this can be finessed is living in fantasyland.
