A new ABC News/Washington Post/Ipsos poll shows a majority of President Biden's own supporters say he should drop out, even though he's virtually tied with former President Trump. Americans are split 46-47% between Biden and Trump if the election were held today, according to the poll. The results did not meaningfully shift from a pre-debate poll, which showed a 44-46% divide between the two candidates. However, Biden does appear to have suffered politically from his poor performance at the CNN Presidential Debate in Atlanta. Sixty-seven percent overall said he should withdraw from the race. A larger number, 85%, said he is too old for a second term, a record high for the survey. Biden insists he is in the race to win and will not withdraw. But 62% of Democrats and Democrat-leaning independents said Biden should step aside. That includes 54% who identified as Biden supporters.

It’s a garbage poll. Survey of adults only, not even registered voters. Also, the sample is D+3 when it should be R+1. Classic push poll.

I think the poll is right. The strong stock market is buoying Biden’s chances. A lot can change in the next 4 months, but the race is not over by a long shot.
I believe 1/2 of the coalition of democrat’s, LGBTQ and RINOs etc would vote for Biden over Trump if he was a corpse.
They hate Trump and, really, anyone with a R next to their name. The label is all that matters to them. And a lot of independents are just sheep.
Despite everything, I still think it’s Biden’s election to lose.
I will refrain from an opinion yet.
However this does remind me of something and makes me uneasy. 2020.
remember how many positive republican thinkers dismissed the polls then? And in 2022 even more.

Yes, we have become used to drinking our own coolaid and believing our own propaganda. We need to be clear eyed and open to reality.
Polls in July are not meant to report actual voter intent.
They are structured to influence the coming election.
All of these MSM polls in July are weighted to show that in spite of what you see, Joe Biden is doing great and Trump is the one scrambling.
Come the last two weeks in October, these polls will claim a shift towards Trump and the real numbers, because now they are trying to protect their accuracy and reputation.
Do you really think Biden is so popular given the people you know and deal with in your own life?

Dukakis ahead of Bush?
Hillary ahead of Trump?
The real polling should be at the illegal alien reception centers and NGOs to determine how many fraudulent votes for Biden will be pumped into the system.
That poll would be the most accurate predictor of the election.
