Try this out. I am talking about nothing else but using Perplexity as an internet search engine. I have used Bing for searches for five years. Due to google being politically biased to the left and too PC for me
https://www.perplexity.ai/
Perplexity pus the other AI searches to shame. Plus it is very well formatted to ask follow up questions. If you sign up for a free account, it will keep an archive of your Perplexity queries searches
Perplexity is not developed by Anthropic.Perplexity is an independent company that has developed its own AI-powered search engine. However, Perplexity does utilize some of Anthropic's AI models, specifically Claude, as part of its service offerings.
Perplexity has partnered with Anthropic to incorporate Claude models into its platform:
Perplexity Pro users have access to Claude 2 and Claude 3 (both Sonnet and Opus versions) as options for powering their AI research assistant.
Perplexity uses Amazon Bedrock to simplify access to proprietary models like Anthropic's Claude, allowing them to offer multiple large language model (LLM) options to their users.
The integration of Claude models enhances Perplexity's capabilities, providing features like longer context windows, improved writing skills, and more natural responses.
While Perplexity and Anthropic collaborate, they remain separate entities. Perplexity has developed its own technology, including a proprietary enterprise search engine, and offers a unique hybrid of web search and AI-powered summaries. The company continues to innovate independently, as evidenced by recent features like Perplexity Pages.
Yep, it isn’t entirely consistent on the answers it gives (like all LLMs) lol
I think the answer you got is basically right, tho.
Claude back in the picture.
I dislike Google, so I hope not, but you never know.;-)
Aravind Srinivas [one of Perplexity's co-founders] had previously interned at DeepMind, Google, and OpenAI. He then assumed the role of a research scientist at OpenAI. Srinivas also holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley. Earlier this month, the company bagged USD 73.6 million (around Rs 600 crore) in funding from US chip maker Nvidia and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, among others.Source: Meet IIT grad who worked with Google, then built Rs 4300 crore company [Perplexity]--dnaindia.com
I downloaded the app they want $20 a month but the website is free. I’ve been playing with ChatGPT not for search too much but often just to help clean up copy writing. I’ll run it through peoplexity and see if it gets better.
They are all scrubbed. You can’t get true history out of them. Two things I always look for and are very hard to find and this one doesn’t have either. One is the video of Obama running for senator of Illinois. It’s an interview and he is sitting at a table. He’s asked how he’s running when he was not born in the USA. His answer was that he is running for Senator, not President.
It is amazing and has saved me a vast amount of time. It has helped me undertake projects that I wouldn't have dreamed of before AI.
The magic for me has been learning how to plan my analyses and then write the best questions for ChatGPT.
If your questions aren't precise and perfectly logical, you'll have problems.
As I have said elsewhere, it's like having an extremely intelligent but naive assistant (at a post-graduate level). If your questions are vague, you get worthless answers. If you ask the right questions, you get brilliant results.
BTW, I'm still learning how to interact with it to maximize its (and my) potential.
I’d like to try this later.

I have an employee who couldn’t write an organized report with good grammar etc. to save his life. I ran a section of a horribly written report through perplexity and it came out fairly well. This was an engineering report about some jobsite testing stuff at an industrial plant that was done by some guys in our company... not that it matters but it was in the field of vibration.
I’d be interested to know what the experience of others is in using AI to clean up technical reports.
I asked this as I recently went looking for this pic. Naturally Google didn't have it.
Here is the perplexity answer.
I apologize, but I don't have access to any recent pictures of Jill Biden screaming, nor do the search results provide any information about such an image. The search results don't contain any references to a specific picture of Jill Biden screaming or any unusual behavior from her.The search results mainly discuss Jill Biden's role as First Lady and her support for President Joe Biden's re-election campaign, particularly in light of recent challenges such as the presidential debate performance. There's no mention of any incident involving Jill Biden screaming or any controversial images of her.If you're looking for recent news or images related to Jill Biden, I'd recommend checking official White House sources or reputable news outlets for the most up-to-date and accurate information.
Ping me if/when an AI can perform a simple request.
I went to perplexity. It signed me in with my Google account.
Yeah. It must be piggybacking off of Google. Se my post 73.
Can Copilot or any other AI perform this simple request?
Show me the recent picture of Jill Biden screaming
God made man and women distinctively different yet uniquely compatible and complementary, and only joined them together in marriage - as the Lord Jesus Himself specified (Mt. 19:4–6) - and Scripture only condemns homosexual relations wherever they are manifestly dealt with.
And homosexual relations have been tragically primarily responsible for approx. 80% of new HIV cases among men and over 700,000 American deaths, though such is not even the decisive reason why homosexual relations are wrong.
Yet there is still room at the cross for all who will come to God in repentance and faith, and trust in the Divine Son of God sent by the Father, the risen Lord Jesus, to save them on His account, by His sinless shed blood, and thus be baptized and live for Him. Acts 10:36-47
I believe it is piggy-backing off of Google’s AI
What evidence do you have for that conclusion?

I could be wrong, but for it to sign you in using your Google account is a clear sign.
Well I am impressed. I asked who, Chuck Ness, This is my actual name. The site lists me second behind the retired Pro Hockey player who comes from the same town as me, Duluth MN.
They go one to describe me and my book in a very respectful way.
Hey, Google and never offer anything about me, let alone my book.
I’m sold
I use perplexity without signing in. I do not have a Google account.
