A large analysis of data from nearly 400,000 healthy U.S. adults followed for more than 20 years has found no association between regular multivitamin use and lower risk of death. The study, "Multivitamin Use and Mortality Risk in 3 Prospective US Cohorts" led by researchers at the National Institutes of Health's National Cancer Institute, was published June 26, 2024, in JAMA Network Open.

When I buy the big jar, my Centrum Silver knock off brand costs 4 cents a day.

I will keep investing - unless they prove it is harmful.

So far, so good.

Excellent health, and no prescription drugs at all.

I also take one aspirin per day, with a full meal, for heart and vascular health.

No bleeding issues, and excellent heart health, so far.

Re: aspirin - if you take a prescription blood thinner, do NOT take aspirin. There are significant bleeding risks.

The number one cause of death, not just in America, but worldwide, is life.

Just saying.

"He says the key to good health is Vitamin D. Got it. Thanks doc!"

I was prescribed Vitamin D by my endocrinologist several years ago, and then they discovered I have a hyper-parathyroid, which stimulates too much Vitamin D, so I had to stop taking it.

I suppose a large analysis is something to be paid attention to.

No reason not to take them.
Our bodies can’t possibly get all the nutrients that we need from food.
And D is essential and a person gets a basic level of D from a multi vitamin.

TPTB do not want me alive. Their recommendations confirm this.

I do my own research and decide what supplements are useful for me.

There’s a link to the study.

Pay special attention to the section on Limitations.

FWIW, we’re still taking MVs.

There is more to health than death. What happens between birth and death is kind of important. You can be more healthy for all that time or less healthy for all that time.

The article is trying to sound like vitamins are worthless. If they keep you healthier in the meantime before death, they are still a benefit.

Doctors hate vitamins. They don’t make any money off them.

I don’t care about a lower risk of death. But I do want to feel as good as possible as long as I’m here.

In my experience, most doctors know little about using vitamins, minerals, and other supplements to treat illness. The right ones though can work near wonders. Certain deficiencies like magnesium and Vitamin D are common but not always recognized even though they have highly damaging effects on the cardiovascular system and the brain.

I was depleted of vitamin D and iron, so they put me on high doses of both. It brought my levels back to normal, so I know they work.
