Climate change is not only harming the planet - it's also ruining our sleep.
A new report from Climate Central says rising nighttime temperatures are chipping away at human sleep across the globe.
Nighttime temperatures have increased even more rapidly than daytime temperatures as the world heats up, the study said.
Those hot and sleepless nights make it harder for people to recover from the heat of the day. And the effects could be deadly.
Hot nights led to a 50% increased mortality risk, the report said.
Sleep deprived nights also lead to an increase risk of both physical and mental health problems like brain development, learning and school performance.

Well, I for one don’t sleep as well as I did decades ago. Can’t have anything to do with getting older, so it has to be global warming.
Fear is a good thing for fascists.
You’ve misspelled “GoreBull”.
Don’t be letting that effete elite grifter off the hook. Or he’ll make us pay to plant trees somewhere or put dry-ice in storage.
Give the world billions of DVDs of Algore’s collected speeches to play when going to bed. Problem solved.
“Scientists found global mean temperatures have risen by more 34 degrees Fahrenheit since 1850, setting a new record in 2023.”
“Hot nights led to a 50% increased mortality risk”
LMAO - 34 degrees since 1850? 50% mortality risk increase just from hot nights? Who comes up with this stuff?
Or these people are struggling with their corrupt souls.
It is definitely hotter this summer in Việt Nam but in 68-69 I remember that summer and most of the rest of the year saw temperatures above 100 degrees almost every day. It has been 90s most of the summer with some years no 100+ temps at all for the last 21 years anyway and cooler in the non-summer months- can’t say Sài Gòn ever has anything we can call winter, except on the calendar.
Crank up the climate change hysteria-
no more beer because of climate change!
that should get do it
The scientists today are kool-aid drinkers and raised on a diet of chicken nuggets and Skittles. I don’t expect much of them.
Climate change is here have no doubt
Too much rain too much drought
Run in circles scream and shout
It’ll cook your brain and freeze your feet
Too much rain too much heat
Snow coming soon no relief in sight
Tornados and floods you better run for your life
Climate change is here better hide in fear.
They need more money or it gets severe
Too much rain too much drought
Run in circles scream and shout
And the answer is to get rid of air conditioning.
I guess no-one slept from 200BC to 450AD, during the Roman Optimum, when global average temps were 5+ Celius higher than today.
But they did have bumper crops!
It’s going to be 57 tonight in my part of Illinois.
Mrs. Bania and I are leaving Friday for our summer home in Scotland until after Labor Day. Rarely gets above 65 degrees.
I’m sure we’ll sleep just fine.
Not just “Gorebull.” Globull warming (aka “climate change”) propaganda is excreted by the enemedia, by increasingly woke religious organizations, and in the so-called refereed scientific journals.
Climate is just weather but Weather Change sounds stupid because it changes all the time ,LOL
The summer heat is making people miserable and governments and academics across the globe are outraged, because for once they have no role in creating the misery, so they find themselves doing what they can to at least aggravate it.
Blame the Urban Heat Islands. Rural temps show much smaller increases.
Also, most city temps are measured at the airport.
The instrumentation and the data at the airports are excellent.
That is because pilots need highly accurate weather data to land and take off safely.
One problem - airport thermometers are surrounded by acres of un-shaded concrete.
When you subtract Urban Heat Island data from USA historical temperature data, the USA temp increase over the last 40 years has been modest and completely within historical norms.
The recent spike in global temps is clearly related to the unprecedented Tonga ocean volcano that injected 150 million tons of water vapor - the most powerful major greenhouse gas - into the stratosphere.
When is Climate Central going to stop Volcanic eruptions.
I think there’s a lot of truth in that :-)
