Joey Chestnut, the reigning and 16-time champion of the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest, will not compete in this year’s event on July 4, Major League Eating announced.
Chestnut, who has been competing in the annual Nathan’s Hot Dog event since 2005, has been banned from this year’s contest after he agreed to a sponsorship deal with Impossible Foods, a rival brand of Nathan’s. This year’s Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest will again be held at Coney Island in New York City.

I suspect Nathan’s will be the bigger loser here.
A lot of people watch this to see him and if he’s gonna break his own record....I know I do cuz nobody else is gonna come close to it that’s for sure.....and I kinda doubt I’m gonna watch if he’s not in it.
Also, he’s won the thing so many times he really has no competition.....not a fan of impossible meat by any means but hey business is business. 🤷

I went to a restaurant that had all-you-can-eat meatless Impossible hot dogs and discovered it's a scam. Nobody can eat more than half of one.

I make it a point to check the impossible meat inventory when at the grocery store.......it’s never low on stock.

More than likely gonna be a lot like EVs....2 kinds of people.....the ones that want the product and the ones that don’t want anything to do with it.

I agree. They don’t have to invite him. If someone has a rival endorsement, that’s a conflict.
I also agree with V_TWIN though. Joey Chesnut is bigger than nathans. I mean, ball park, hewbrew national, oscar myer, hillshire farms.... How many poeple really care about hotdogs that much?

Trust me dude....I’m no vegan by ANY stretch.....as a matter of fact I just ate a Jack’s Links meat stick.....would a vegan even know what that is???? Lol!
