NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KARK) — An all-you-can-eat buffet turned into an all-out surprise when one Mississippi woman — who didn’t know she was pregnant — gave birth at the Golden Corral in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
The new mom said she didn’t know she was pregnant until it was time to deliver in the restaurant bathroom.
“I’m still in shock,” Tayvia Woodfork, the mother of Tamaar Kylon Corral Woodfork, said.
Woodfork had experienced a rare case of cryptic pregnancy, which describes a pregnancy that remains unknown to the (unexpecting) mother for a significant portion of the term, according to the American Pregnancy Association.
On the day baby Tamaar was born, his mother Tayvia and his grandmother Tameka, along with their family, stopped at the buffet for a bite on their way home to Mississippi.
“I ain’t make it to the table,” Woodfork said.
Instead, Tayvia, in pain, headed straight to the bathroom. Tameka said she initially thought her daughter was just experiencing cramps — not contractions.
Tayvia’s sister went to the bathroom to check on her, where she made a shocking discovery.
“She said, ‘I ain’t never seen nothing like it. It’s a baby!’” Tameka remembered.
“The baby was 6 pounds. It was a full baby,” the new grandmother added.
The unimaginable experience for Tayvia also included some unimaginable pain.
“Ten out of ten,” she said, describing her level of discomfort.
After her delivery, though, Tayvia had plenty of fans among the Golden Corral’s staff and customers.
“They were clapping when she came out on the stretcher,” Tameka said.
Tamaar’s surprising birth has also made him something of a superstar, his grandmother said.
“Everybody wants to see the Golden Corral baby,” according to Tameka.
In a Facebook post, Golden Corral said baby Tamaar is the record holder for the youngest Golden Corral fan.
“And don’t worry, we’ll make sure Mom is well taken care of with Golden Corral gift cards … while she’s taking care of you,” the restaurant wrote.
I know one lady I worked with who showed up with a baby and I said, "Oh you adopted!" Yeah.... no.
She was about 5'10" and athletic and since she did not wear close fitting clothing you could not tell. In that case the baby was no surprise to her, she just did not think it was anyone else's business.
The joke in town at the time was how the pizza shop now offered free delivery :-)
My mom had an aunt who was so fat nobody knew she was pregnant.
But that’s not the same as HER not *knowing*.
I’ve been pregnant three times, and unless you are totally clueless about your body, or again, in deep denial, you know. You can’t not know, especially when junior starts moving around and tap dancing on your bladder.
Dropped the baby right into the mac and cheese.
Almost as good as a beat down a the Waffle house at 2 AM.
Tamaar is a Muslim boy’s name.

Is that a picture of 5 generations?
The out-of-wedlock births for the Community of Diverse Ones is 77%.
One of the baby's names is Kylon, which is a Greek name (more commonly spelled Cylon in English). A man by that name made an unsuccessful attempt to become tyrant of Athens about 632 B.C.
Didn’t know she was pregnant? Srsly?
I KNEW I didn’t need to look after those NAMES!! WHERE”S THE FATHER?
I couldn’t keep up with all the new names.
I wasn’t going to look - thanks for nothing...
Didn’t know she was pregnant? Does she know how or when it happened?
I don’t think those first three women have missed many Golden Corral meals...Is that one with the blanket on the shoulder a woman?
First, the mother has to be able to figure out who the father is, so he can be located for his reaction.
4 Generations if one of the middle ladies (?) is great-grandma
I’ve read quite a few accounts of these type pregnancies, usually mom is very heavy & perceives kicks as “gas bubbles”, but there were a couple where mom was very athletic & did not have regular periods because of low-body fat. It seems impossible, esp. if you’ve had a pregnancy and know what it feels like, but it does happen.
LOL
Did any of the other female customers say, “I’ll have what she’s having.”?
Seriously??? She didn't know???? How the hell does that happen? How do you not know??? How much did the baby weigh at birth?? She didn't know she was pregnant?? I'm dumbfounded.
6 lbs, per the story.
Yeah, I know. But stories like this crop up often enough that I guess it does happen. Weight gain, water retention, swollen breasts, menstruation stopping, junior kicking. And probably more things I'm forgetting.
How does a woman not notice she no longer has a period and not notice the weight gain?
