In the past couple of years I have noticed there is a complete lake of regard for other posters on this site. Not only that but swearing seems to be tolerated. In the past day I have been called gay, a lair, that I am talking out of my *** and I am full of ****. Do we even have to go into the fighting on any thread about Ukraine or Russia. Even hard facts from multiple sources no longer seem to matter. Instead it is whoever can come up with the snarkiest reply.
Hey, at least the mod that would delete any post disparaging or humorous about Big Mike is gone.
Now, it is all about getting points for the snarkiest comment in the fastest time.
Overall, I get the feeling that the adults have left the room on most threads. I almost never go past three comments on a thread anymore.

I agree completely. I was first on FR beginning in 2007. A very different site today.
We are not all honest individuals in search of truth. You are smack dab in the middle of a hot information war, and there are professional members of domestic intelligence on here, and their entire purpose is to drive people from sites like this, so they will only get their information from the intel op’s narrative crafters.
Don’t take people here seriously. You see a racist post, it might be a racist, or it might be a black guy hired by domestic intel to post racists stuff to drive black conservatives off this site, because black guys will know best how to punch those buttons on other black guys.
I wish everybody here who is honest could see the domestic surveillance. It is bigger than the Stasi in the US, and the intel op it serves is as well, and there are a ton of moving pieces on it.

I don’t know, it was pretty vitriolic here in the run up to the 2016 election of President Trump, pretty bad indeed. Also, this ‘Conservative’ site has a very large contingent of doctrinaire Republicans, who aren’t anymore fans of President Trump than Dems are.
I still get all warm and fuzzy thinking about it.
What upsets me is that even now the same people complaining about the loss of civility are the ones making fun of others. To be fully honest I have a facial deformity and get very little if any respect anywhere I go. I have a college degree but can’t land a decent job. Was tutoring for a while but that abruptly ended even though the children liked me and I was improving all their grades. Now even Christian and Conservative sites have become cliquey. It also really hurts when people old enough to be my grandparents insult me like a schoolyard bully. Although it shouldn’t surprise me as even nursing homes have to have assigned seating at dinner to keep the peace.

But while that is very unfortunate it probably goes with the nature of public discourse, especially if ego, passion or alcohol is involved.
It was almost refreshing to exchange with a few well-written Obama supporters who argued with intellectual honesty. When one exchanges on FR with someone who claims to be an R or a conservative but lacks that honesty it smells like a troll.
The rules of 'Brainstorming" ought to apply (if only they were well spelled out).

That seems to be the sore spot for people here.
That says pretty much the way I feel about some people...They claim to be “Republican” and they may mostly vote that way, from a lot of posts they place in here, they are definitely not “conservative” minded....
I wish I was as thick skinned as President Trump, he is one cool cat, smart too.
Kind of like other platforms for me. If I don’t like a comment I just continue scrolling. Swearing doesn’t offend me, nor does name calling. Lord knows I can dish it out when necessary.
People are energized and angry with not only our country but the world. I’d expect some snarky comments from tine to tine from opposing viewpoints.

As a possible example, the poster backpacker_c was always on here stirring the pot between Trump and DeSantis posters. He finally posted less and eventually quit (at least for now) when I pointed out that there was a person who used that rather unique posting name who spoke Indonesian and lived in Indonesia, which has more Muslims than any other nation on Earth.
Signal to noise ratio has been falling for a long time, but it’s never been worse.

some posters are so blatantly narrow and biased that its no use freeping it out with them....
best policy is to simply make a post than ignore the naysayers..that is how you survive for 25-26 yrs on FR...
