A 71-year-old woman who was found dead inside her home had been fatally mauled by a black bear...
Patrice Miller’s body was discovered inside her Downieville home in November last year by police who had been called to carry out a welfare check.
Officers discovered a grisly scene with evidence that a bear had been inside, likely for several days, feeding on the woman’s remains.

Initially, investigators thought she had died before to the bear’s entry. However, an autopsy report completed last month revealed Miller was killed when the animal swiped or bit her neck, Sierra County Sheriff Mike Fisher confirmed.

Wow. I wonder how effective wearing bear claws on hands and feet would be in getting rid of an uh problematic relative… asking for a friend here…
Actually with the forensics they have today you might skate for a day or two.

Animals that kill humans should not be on the protected species list. But government knows best..... Your sorry lives don’t matter to them.
Timothy Treadwell and his girlfriend Amie Huguenard were eaten alive by a bear .. the attack was recorded.
Maybe she left the door open , perhaps cooking something tat smelled good to the bear.
Horrible way to die.
38,000,000 Californians OR 35,000 bears.
My opinion is that we address this imbalance quickly. It seems we have plenty of Californians to go around.
I read she was feeding stray cats on her porch and had to chase bear(s) away before.
A bear broke in and raided my house. If I had been home I would have been main course.
We had a neighbor who did that, and the cat food attracted all sorts of critters (fortunately, there were no bears in the neighborhood). You can tell folks "don't feed the wildlife", but they always think they're smarter than everyone else...
Ester Schwimmer, a 5-month-old female, was taken from her stroller, which was near the porch of her family’s home. The black bear carried her in its mouth to the woods. She died
Gee, that's a tough way to earn TikTok "likes".
This 28-year old bear, dubbed Bear 141, was shot dead after park rangers found it

Samuel Evan Ives, an 11-year-old male, was grabbed from a family tent in American Fork Canyon in Utah, and mauled to death.
In my town, just across border from e WA, we have black and grizzly bears around, and they do break into houses and vehicles sometimes. I don’t think they are always hunting human prey but if confronted (especially mothers with cubs) they will attack.
Recently, a bear got trapped inside a local house, couldn’t figure out an exit, and started tearing the place apart. A woman and two kids were in the house, and took refuge in a locked bedroom, called 911 and police broke down her door and allowed the bear to escape.
We often see the black bears around and generally they are placid. Grizzlies are re-populating our local ranges from release programs south of us near Colville WA. We don’t like to see grizzlies, they are more aggressive and dangerous. Before 2015, they were not seen around here and their natural range is further north and east, in Selkirks and Rockies.
October is particularly bad (or good) for seeing bears because fruit trees are dropping tasty treats. And if you don’t see bears around town, you are quite likely to see bear poop, even on the main drag. Bears (especially juveniles) will often park the selves up in cedar trees about 20 feet above the ground, surveying the scene and you would not know they were up there, unless perhaps you heard a faint growl that they do. I’ve seen bears in trees several times around this region.
Sergey Grigoriyev, adopted and raised a bear cub.. Despite four years of bonding, the bear then ate Sergey.. His “skeletal remains” were found by Police who went to his house after his relatives reported him missing ..
I think it was a grisly bear!
And the main corse! :(
if this bear took the time and effort to break into this house and kill that woman, he was hungry....
No silly, for Russia! Russia! Russia!</Hillary!™>
