When I was a Masters student in Liverpool in 1996, I deliberately walked the long way into the city centre from university every day.
It wasn’t superstition or paranoia. It was because I longed to experience the infamous Bold Street Time Slip.
A handful of people claim to have been strolling down this gently sloping thoroughfare only to be suddenly transported back to the 1950s.

They listen until you meet someone new who does not know of your abilities- then it’s I told you so time again.
There’s been a few times where something told me not to do something or go somewhere. The times I didn’t listen, bad things happened.
That sounds like the inspiration for the British comedy series "Goodnight, Sweetheart." A 1980s guy turns into a side street in London and finds himself back in 1940. Time travel is a trusty premise in entertainment, and the British love WWII, so why not?
