UPDATE
9:41 AM PT -- The Maryland Transportation Authority tells TMZ ... officers responded to the incident late Tuesday afternoon upon receiving reports of the fight. Officers identified five involved individuals, one of whom suffered minor injuries.
Meanwhile, a rep for Spirit tells us four employees of a third-party service they use have been suspended by that company pending an investigation into the brawl. Spirit says they do not directly employ the individuals.
The airline adds violence of any kind is not tolerated, and they plan to take appropriate action following the completed investigation.
A Spirit Airlines check-in counter spiraled into chaos when a heated argument turned into an airport beatdown ... and, it was all caught on video.
This crazy fight recently went down at Baltimore/Washington International Airport in Baltimore. It's not clear what led to the fisticuffs ... but, it seems one man was none too happy with the Spirit team -- and they matched his energy, ganging up on the dude and whooping on him.
TMZ.com Watch ... the dude squares up at the desk -- but, he's taken by surprise when a swarm of dudes -- who certainly appear to be Spirit employees based on their uniforms -- come running from behind the counter and start throwing punches, quickly laying the man out.
From there, the brawl turns into a good old-fashioned beating ... with the group of fighters landing a series of blows while the man is laid prone on the terminal floor -- where he's held down and punched/kicked.
For the most part, the video's pretty much just this group holding the other guy down ... before one of them lands a cheap shot right at the end.
Like we said ... it appears this fight's between a passenger and Spirit employees -- but, it's hard to say for certain. We've reached out to cops, Spirit and the airport about this incident ... but so far, no word back from anyone.

BTW, this is the latest in a stream of incidents at airport kiosks caught on video ... remember, last month a woman had a meltdown at LAX, berating the staff before realizing she was at the wrong desk. And, another person blew up about her period at a desk in January.

Much like the TSA agent when I flew out of Orlando last month. I couldn't tell if she was shouting instructions or just yelling at us.
The culture we are told to bow down too.
Yeah, I think I’ll pass thanks.
damn amish at it again
It is as inevitable as the sunrise. The older I get, the more racist I become.
It’s not racism, it’s realism.
Let’s have us a spelling contest...
“What was the additional charge for the beatings? If I recall, they are not included in the bargain fare.”
thanks for the clarification: i always thought the addon “beating” fee was to NOT get beaten ...
I've decided to own it. If someone calls me 'racist', my response is 'so what?'
That guy is gonna get a nice payday from Spirit
Maybe it’s Intellectualist?
Was Darwin totally wrong?
Science may explain....
It was a spirited discussion on the display of good manners and rational discourse.
“ After the screaming settled down, I was able to quietly tell the clerk ALL the luggage had been lost, thus why we were all standing there.”
“ oh stewardess, I speak jive”.

That word then becomes sterile.
Or as I say, “I wasn’t a racist until you started calling me one.”
No, you didn’t.
Great.
So any training and security clearances they had just went out the window. They are going to have a record now and lose all the generous benefits I am sure they were getting. Nice.
I worked for a background screening company years ago and our legal expert (can’t remember his official title) was the one to call people and tell them when they didn’t pass the screening.
Often times, the applicants would leave out crimes or places they lived where they committed crimes and the background screeners would find a way to get to the bottom of their deceptions. On several occasions, he had to call people who were applying to go to nursing school or to be a dental hygienist and let them know that them being convicted of murder and being imprisoned for it ensures they will never work in the medical field. “But I paid my dues!!!” was their response most often. Seems they are not informed that committing crimes keeps them from having a good life most often. It was heartbreaking.
