No, I am neither stupid nor evil. Nor do I believe you are either.

I will let the good in that region do their thing, and I am also rooting for them as well. I am just in my latter stage of life and doubt that I have much to offer. Thus, it is best that I stay out of the way.

Mainly because I am liable to walk into some site, mistake its intention as being for good, and it ending up being a trap set by that very same government that we both believe has become a criminal enterprise that enriches themselves while fleecing the citizens. They no longer even care about the nation, because they have become consumed with their desire to attain more wealth & power.

With what I don't know, I can do no evil unintentionally. I honesty understand there are white hats still in this nation. But the best I can offer them are my prayers, and God speed for their mission to defeat evil.

...I have no desire to learn the truth...

That should be your epitaph.

There are some truths worth learning and some truths not learning. I am incapable of learning all. It doesn't mean that I won't learn it at this point in time. When I have a reason to learn more than perhaps I will. Until then it's not high on my priority list at the moment.

I refuse to get into a pissing contest with you, because I have respect for your postings. I am not out to make enemies with you. So, I will ignore your attempts to get under my skin. I have thick skin and have been called many things in my life. I'll take your word that there are legitimate things happening there, and that's all good, but I bet if I said that there was far more evil taking place there you would undoubtably agree with that statement.

So, just give it a rest. All we are back & forth with at this point is that I have no desire to venture there at this point in time. Why is that hard for you to accept and move along?

I am doing no harm to our nation, and I strongly believe my prayers are doing good. If that not enough for you, berating me is not going to change any of that.

I am doing no harm to our nation

And yet you spout nonsense as if it were fact.

Are you telling me that there is more good than bad in the Dark Web?

Now I will ask you to prove that.

It’s a part of the Internet that can’t be accessed via traditional means and browsers, Dark Web sites don’t show up in Google searches

The only browser you can use on the Dark Web is something called TOR which stands for The Onion Router and packets are broken up, encrypted and routed through the internet using different paths the reach the destination making traffic untraceable

It allows anonymity on the internet and is untraceable

When you combine the Dark Web with crypto currency like Bitcoin you have the ability to conduct business, while remaining anonymous and untraceable

It was the reason that allowed Ross Ulbrecht to run The Silk Road site for so long and flaunt it to Government, he was eventually caught because of something he did outside of the Dark Web

He was arrested while doing admin work on the Silk Road site while sitting in a Public Library in San Francisco

Is TOR the same as ‘bit torrent’? I’ve heard of that and that’s been around a long time.

tks for info

Two completely different things, bit torrent is a method of downloading files that uses a decentralized approach, TOR stands for “The Onion Router” and it’s a browser similar to Chrome or Internet Explorer, except TOR is used on the Dark Web and to my knowledge it’s the only browser capable of doing that.

It’s sounds dangerous and from what I’ve heard, it is. Is it illegal to use or are there legit reasons to use it?

There is nothing illegal about the Dark Web as it stands, illegal activity takes place on the Dark Web, but the Dark Web itself is not illegal.

If I were someone who was on the Dark Web regularly, I would get something like a Linux based cheap computer and do nothing but surf the Dark Web.

I use something called a Raspberry PI which costs less than $200 and is a fully functional Linux based computer. if somehow that machine gets corrupted, I can easily generate a
new Micro SD card and be backup in 10 minutes.

The few times I’ve been on the Dark Web, I’ve seen sites that sell every kind illegal drug imaginable, I’ve seen sites that sell any kind of computer hacking took you can think of, basically anything and everything is for sale and Bitcoin is the method of payment.

The regular internet is basically the same, except on the Dark Web it’s virtually impossible to trace packets to their origin and combined with Bitcoin it’s extremely difficult to know who is buying what and and who is selling it.

Thanks for all the info. you’ve cleared up a lot of things about it that I have been curious about. I can see that it’s not for me. I like my privacy, and it’s scary how intrusive Microsoft is getting with info, but I don’t think I have any need for the DW.
