Is TOR the same as ‘bit torrent’? I’ve heard of that and that’s been around a long time.

Two completely different things, bit torrent is a method of downloading files that uses a decentralized approach, TOR stands for “The Onion Router” and it’s a browser similar to Chrome or Internet Explorer, except TOR is used on the Dark Web and to my knowledge it’s the only browser capable of doing that.
