Now, though, those mandates are gone, and Kaiser is facing a reckoning in the form of a physician shortage.

🚨 Breaking:
Kaiser Permanente is begging doctors they fired over the COVID shot to crawl back to the HMO & reapply:

KAISER PERMANENTE•

May 17, 2024

Dr. Owen Johnston,

We are writing to let you know that there has been a change in the Kaiser Permanente COVID-19 Vaccination for KP Workforce Members Policy ("Vaccine Policy") that may impact you. As you may recall, the federal government and various state and local entities required COVID-19 vaccinations for, among others, healthcare workers during the pandemic.

Consistent with the government-mandated COVID-19 vaccine laws, and as part of its ongoing efforts to protect the health and safety of Kaiser Permanente members, patients, and employees, many of whom were at high-risk from COVID-19, in 2021 Kaiser Permanente implemented a Vaccine Policy. The Vaccine Policy required, as a condition of employment, that employees must either submit proof that they were fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including any applicable boosters), or receive an approved exemption, by the specified timeline.

Due to changes in the federal, state and local vaccine requirements or recommendations, among other reasons, the Vaccine Policy has been revised effective February 1, 2024. Specifically, vaccination against COVID-19 is no longer required as a condition of employment. While COVID-19 vaccination will not be a requirement of working at Kaiser Permanente, employees will be required to annually verify their COVID-19 vaccination status.

We understand that your employment may have ended at Kaiser Permanente because of your non-compliance with the Vaccine Policy. Given the revision to the Vaccine Policy, we wanted to inform you that you are eligible for rehire with Kaiser Permanente for open and available positions for which you are qualified if you chose to reapply (unless you are ineligible for rehire for other reasons unrelated to the non-compliance with the COVID-19 vaccine mandate). You may search for open and available positions here:

https://kaiserpermanentejobs.org/search-jobs

We appreciate your prior service to Kaiser Permanente and its members and patients, and we encourage you to apply for open positions.

Sincerely Yours,
Kaiser Permanente

Once burned, twice shy. I could probably forgive for a $200,000 bonus.

“It’s a superb institution”

Lost me right there.

Kaiser is the bottom of the barrel.

I almost always know more about my condition and the medicine around it than my doc.

My doc is gay, fat, and a dunce. He mixed up my left and right shoulder, for example, when attempting to treat it.

Kaiser took over Group Health in WA, formerly known as “Group Death”.

Employees are consistently skill free DEI hires.

The list goes on and on.

And next month they’ll want to force them to be vaccinated.

Why go back? It’s not like I’d trust them ever again.

Why? They’ve already done their part to help the others destroy healthcare in this country. Yeah, I’m looking at you Obama.

Such reckless fascism will be a stain on their reputations forever. We knew well before these mandates that the decision on whether to vaccinate or not was very personal & did not impact other people. Personally, I chose to get vaccinated. But I cannot impose such a decision on other people.

Only if we can get rid of all the people who enforced the mandates, fired or pulled the licenses of doctors and nurses, then maybe we can talk.
I know we like to say "never again" about a lot of things before we do it again, but let's make clear that FDA and CDC does not have the right to make law.

“Consistent with the government-mandated COVID-19 vaccine laws”

That’s funny. Aren’t all the government tyrants and stooges claiming that they never forced or coerced anyone to get “vaccinated”?

Compensation? Back pay? Damages?

What about an apology that says gee we’re sorry we were wrong for being authoritarian jerks based on fake science?

Kaiser is named after the industrialist Henry J. Kaiser, who founded it in 1945 after over a decade of providing low-cost healthcare to workers and their families. What made Kaiser’s treatment centers different was that they didn’t focus on treating only existing illnesses and injuries. Instead, the minds behind it figured out that a healthy workforce was a productive workforce, so Kaiser facilities emphasized preventative medicine.

Well, that is because he was paying for it. But now that third parties are paying, Kaiser Permanente's approach is the opposite—the big money is in illness and hospitalization, not prevention.

An extremely fair-skinned acquaintance of mine asked her Kaiser doctor for a lab test of her Vitamin D blood levels, because she never goes in the sun and low D levels contribute to massive illnesses like osteopenia, breast cancer and more. The doctor angrily refused, because the Plandemic was going on at the time, the patient did not want to take the jab, and many in the public were suddenly taking Vitamin D as a preventative. Doctor pitched a fit and lost a patient.

If I was one of the fired employees receiving that letter, I’d send back 1,000 pages of “F*** you!!!”, typed out like the pages of the book Jack Nicholson’s character was working on in “The Shining”.

Not very eloquent, but that’s all the response they deserve.
