Your Memorial Day barbecue will cost upward of 10 percent more than it did this time last year according to Datasembly.
Datasembly follows the cost of groceries across the country every week. Its recently released data points to this year's Memorial Day festivities costing the average American family about $30.18 or 10.19% more than 2023.
Here is a breakdown of Memorial Day cookout costs, according to Datasembly:
Burgers jumped from $7.04 in 2023 to $8.07 in 2024, or a change of 14.63% in cost. Hamburger buns cost two cents more, from $3.04 on average to $3.06.
Ketchup costs 10 cents more from 2023 prices, increasing from $5.43 to $5.53, and mustard increased from $2.53 to $2.61.
Most surprisingly, pickle relish is nearly 50% more expensive than in 2023, with a cost change from $3.14 to $4.67.
On average, a regular grocery trip costs an American family over 20% more than at the beginning of 2021.
The April 2024 U.S. inflation rate is at 3.4% after measuring at 3.5% in March.

If you think prices are high now, wait until they deliberately infect all the livestock and poultry with avian flu.
The numbers are vastly understated. I paid $5.98 per lb of 80/20 ground beef. That’s up $2.00 per lb over last year, or 50% more.
80/20 ground beef
One store I use now has gb at 73/27 and its still way higher than last year.
My venison burgers for today’s BBQ cost me time and labor and 0.88 cents for the bullet.
Next they will dust off their annual “What your July 4th cookout will cost,” “What your Labor Day picnic will cost,” “What your Thanksgiving gettogether will cost” articles.
These are just truisms laced with Instagram-quality pictures of good-looking, wealthier people who clearly wouldn’t care about a statistical rise in a once-a-quarter holiday meal.
I want these bozos to instead write daily, front-page articles on how Democrats have increased the daily costs of food and necessities for all Americans.
Their insane energy, tax-and-spend, crime, welfare and illegal invasion policies are crippling this country. I spend more and get less every freaking time I buy something at the store. This is just a prelude to the little world of hell they are going to create.

You think it’s bad now, wait until after the election. There will be shortages and all sorts of problems like there was after the last election. Granted, this can be blamed on covid, but covid was introduced to cause greater election cheating. The rats will come up with something to cause turmoil this time and a side effect will be the economy as before.
It cost me $148 to fill my Expedition this week, a personal best record! Thanks, Brandon, for helping me achieve my Personal Best!
At 73/27, a lot of your “meat” is dripping into the fire and going up in smoke.
I don’t even try to buy beef any more. I buy maybe a pork roast & bake it for sandwiches. That’s about as “high on the hog” as I get these days as I get. I may eat out a couple times a year with the family for special occasions. I hear Biden keep saying how inflation is tapering off, but I’m seeing the opposite in most cases...and I shop at the cheapest places most of the time. What I’m afraid is that prices are so high right now that they will never get back to normal. I work from Social Security, so you know raises aren’t frequent. The really sad part of it is that the S.S. raises are more frequent than the ones I received when I was working. The other half of this is that I have a little saved, but I’m not sure but what that is gradually decreasing. When that’s gone...what then?
Sure not the 16 cents decrease Biden bragged about in 2021.
Thank goodness my brothers are very good bow hunters. Last weekend we have venison parmesan for dinner.
Cue the Biden ad machine...
“This year’s Memorial Day BBQ is at a record low cost thank’s to Biden’s economic policies and banning of propane. Utility grade soyfodder is down, 3 cents a can and doesn’t require harmful BBQ emissions.”

Thanks. We get cash back from our main Visa card. Do you think you get more cash back from “Upside”?
Did you see this week that the feds are now working to do away with the credit card company cash back feature? They are sticking their noses yet again where they don’t belong.
They pay by the gallon and then You Cash out and they direct deposit it to Your Bank.
SoYou would be getting 2 cash back payments.
Thanks! I’ll check it out.
