I have been reading "The Thrid Reich in the Ivory Tower" by Stephen Norwood. It is a well researched book about the relationship between Ameriocan universities and the German NSDAP (NAZI's) in the thirties. It is especially interesting in light of recent events.
oops Thrid = Third
Sorry, couldn't resist. We all make these fat fingered mistakes.
So, the support was present the Ivory Towers of all or just the Ivy League Universities?
I know Harvard embraced the Nazis.
Universities will swoon over anyone who gives them money.
Yamamoto attended Harvard.
And during WW2 the American colleges and universities were infiltrated by homosexuals and communists who were unfit for duty in the armed forces.
The term βNaziβ is an abbreviation of Nationalsozialist (National Socialist).
The key word there being socialist.
Sadly universities are full of people who firmly believe they should be in charge of things. Because they are so smart and all. Better then those little people. Who need to be firmly led in the direction that is good for them. And punished when they do not worship and obey.
This is nothing new.
