my income tax return took 27 days to be delivered
from Arizona to Ohio
I noticed it yesterday ordering my usual cat food. It all says May 13th for delivery. I just entered lamps for search and it all says Monday 13th. Then I entered a set of drinking glasses, again it all says Monday 13th.
They all say free delivery next for a charge.
Been prime member for years never seen this. Is it because Mothers day weekend? I check next week to see if they will offer next day delivery free.
I may be canceling.
Takes a long time to get stuff shipped from China....................
It depends what you order. A lot of stuff even comes the same day, but I have Prime.
Stuff taking days or weeks usually involves the third party supplier. I get almost everything in one or two days.
Same year?...................
The only time that happened to me was when I was buying an obscure item from some third party vendor on Amazon.
In fact, in my area they have started “overnight” delivery—meaning if I order it by 5 PM, it will be on my doorstep by 7 AM.
Their delivery arm has gotten a lot of grief, buy they process millions of pieces every day—and they do it better than most of their peers (UPS/USPS/Fed Ex)
Yesterday, Walmart delivered a half case of beer with no delivery charge
because I live near an amazon distribution center that is linked to a warehouse hub for the region that I live in almost everything is one day delivery with a lot of time I end up getting an item that I ordered the same day. this means that if I ordered it at 6 am I could expect the item before the end of the day.
Actually it doesn’t.
Items mailed from China become part of the US postal system and are delivered quickly
The postage is paid at the Chinese rate but carried by the US Mail who assumes the cost once handed off in China
Probably because some of the items aren’t shipping by Amazon, but a third party company using the e-commerce engine Amazon offers. I try to avoid the third party vendors because funny things can happen.
Shortage of trucking companies, too...
Smaller, independents are going bust.
That’s cool. Can’t beat a 1/2-day turnaround, for sure.
Bait/switch.
I noticed immediately after Christmas that their shipments were terminally slow...and worsening.
But I haven’t ordered anything in a while. This is new, but not surprising.
Thanks for the heads up.
I have Amazon Prime, and use it a lot. I live outside of Amazon delivery area so just about everything I order comes USPS, every once in while Fedex or UPS. I get almost all of my orders in 2 days. There is very seldom a delay and it’s usually only 1 day.
“Yesterday, Walmart delivered a half case of beer with no delivery charge”
I’m going to one up you. I ordered some stuff from Walmart for shipping. I added a can of WD 40 for like $4.00 just to meet the free delivery threshold. They shipped everything except the WD 40. They delivered it from the local store. That was crazy.
I don’t have Prime though i’ve used the free trials and $0.99 for a week offers several times. Usually just wait until i have items worth $35 or more in my cart. Currently waiting for an order i placed five days ago to ship (per Amazon tracking). Looks like their service is slipping.
very few hiccups w/Prime. i use it as much as economically feasible to get my money’s worth. occasionally there is a delay. as a businesswoman i know stuff happens. but in general, good enough and enough value to renew.
Amazon, please don’t go JC Whitney on us. They would ship something, right or wrong, in 6-8 weeks. I spent all summer trying to get them to ship the right color seat covers. They never did.
Delivery time depends on the item ordered. Some are same day others are later. Nothing new.
Six separate items all from sellers in the U.S. I placed the order for free shipping now they changed the delivery date to May 26th earliest. Rotten b^&tards this is last order, I am through with this company. I mean cans of Planter’s Peanuts don’t come from China. Since I’m in Florida I’m thinking this is some kind of political boycott.
