I was watching today's Rallies in Wisconsin and Michigan.
Trump, again, spoke out about the unfairness of the Manhattan Trial, "the conflicted judge," the corrupt prosecutor etc.
In short, he's not shutting up, which begs the question. Is he calling the judge's bluff? Is he trying to get incarcerated?
Why would he do that?
What would be the scenario if the judge tells the bailiff to handcuff Trump and take him to jail for contempt of court?
Would he agree to be handcuffed? I don't think he'd want that photo-op, but what can happen?
Would the Secret Service sit back and let this happen?
Would they go to jail with him?
I've searched the internet, and I cannot find a single scholarly article on what can happen if the judge attempts to incarcerate Trump.
My thought is, if the judge orders incarceration, would that constitute a collateral judgment that will give Trump the IMMEDIATE opportunity to appeal before he's escorted away?
I am genuinely asking the smartest thinkers in the world here on the forum for their opinion.

The judge will not jail Trump. It would be terribly bad optics and only add fuel to the fire generating support for Trump. This same idiot judge threatened to deny Trump the day off to see his son graduate, but even then he knew that would be a bad mistake so he did let Trump go to Florida.

I predict that Judge Merchan is going to use his power to put a stop to it while he can.My prediction is that Merchan will find that Trump violated his gag order. After Merchan reportedly had a meeting with the Secret Service and then softened his tone about jailing Trump, Merchan will order that Trump wear an ankle bracelet and restrict his movements to only go to and from Trump Tower and the courthouse, keeping him from going to pop-up rallies in New York City.
Merchan will further order that Trump must stop receiving guests like world leaders at Trump Tower (like the other day with former Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso) as if he were the real President-in-exile.
Once the ankle bracelet is attached, I think Merchan will also order that Trump can no longer give his mini-press conferences outside of the courthouse. Merchan will order Trump to only be allowed to move between Trump Tower and the courthouse with utmost haste without any delay or stops.
It's the only way they can have a plausible means of keeping Trump from campaigning during the trial, which was always their primary goal.

It would not happen because it would guarantee Trump a second term.
It’s not up to the judge to make that decision. If polling shows it will help Biden and the Democrats in the general, the judge will be told to arrest Trump.
I believe under the gag order he is allowed to call out the judge he just can’t mention witnesses or jurors
Well,one thing’s for sure....both the judge and Bragg will have both sewn up $10 million book deals.
I have been asking this for months.
I think it is almost certain that Trump will be convicted by an all democrat jury, most of whom were eager to serve on the jury so they could tell their friends how they convicted Trump. Trump will then be sentenced to prison by a democrat hack judge.
What happens then?
I decline to answer on the grounds that I do not need another ham handed "approach" or "friendly" visit.

Belive me, if they were going to after anybody, it would be me.
They are bound by congressional law to defend the president and cannot perform their duties if he is incarcerated. Moreover, they are themselves not criminals so they will not be allowed to join him behind bars to provide for his protection, even if they wanted to.
As others mentioned, at most he'll get house arrest, which Trump could totally ignore if he wanted.
I will vote for Trump.

I cannot understand why this has not already happened? Especially following the 2020 steal.
Probably, no trusting leadership on our side, and most hope someone else will fix the problem.
Having him spanked in prison would accomplish that.
