‘Zombie’ drug made from human bones is pushing addicts to dig up graves

A psychoactive drug made from human bones is leaving addicts digging up graves in order to get their fix.

Police officers are guarding cemeteries in Freetown, Sierra Leone, after more people are turning to the drug Kush.

It is made from a variety of toxic substances, with one of its main ingredients is ground-up human bone.

Human remains contain traces of sulphur, which allegedly can enhance the affects of drugs.

It first emerged in the country around six years ago and induces a hypnotic high which can last for several hours.

One former user Abu Bakhar, 25, told Channel 4 News he gave up hopes of a music career as the drug turned him into a ‘zombie’.

He said: ‘Because of drugs I did not concentrate on studies. Because of drugs I did not concentrate on writing. Because of drugs I did not concentrate on anything’.

Abu is now homeless and lives on a landfill site among a thousand others.

Sierra Leone’s President Bio said: ‘Our country is currently faced with an existential threat due to the ravaging impact of drugs and substance abuse, particularly the devastating synthetic drug Kush.’

Sleeping while standing is something I see as pretty useful.

“While cannabis is widely grown in Sierra Leone, the fentanyl is thought to originate in clandestine laboratories in China where the drug is manufactured illegally and shipped to west Africa. Tramadol has a similar source, namely illegal laboratories across Asia. Formaldehyde, which can cause hallucinations, is also reported in this mixture.”

That seems like somebody is Borating dumb white reporters. Although honestly Sierra Leona is a mess. A place that if you can’t get out of physically you might as well get out of it mentally. But I’m still not believing this story for a second.

It’s real. I have never been an addict of any kind and thus can’t understand it. I suspect what this addict says about Kush might be similiar to what addicts of other drugs say:

“Groups of mostly young men sitting on street corners with limbs swollen by kush abuse is a common sight in Sierra Leone. With a bandage around his ankle, one recovering addict told the BBC the drug has a tight grip on him.

“I don’t like doing this, but I cannot leave it because I enjoy it,” he said.”

It’s very real.

https://www.cnn.com/2024/04/06/africa/sierra-leone-emergency-kush-intl/index.html

The only thing in question is whether they really use human bones. Even if they don’t...people think they do and rob the graves. Thus the need for police presence.

"Human remains contain traces of sulphur, which allegedly can enhance the affects of drugs."

Too bad sulfur can't be obtained in any other way. If they did get it from another source, it probably just wouldn't be the same - like dolphin-free tuna.
