This reminds me of the close Robert Jordan’s Dragon Reborn series of novels. The Aiels’ desert home turns into a lush paradise as an ocean fills up a valley.

Wouldn’t be surprised if there are things that burrowed in the last time the water was there are coming alive in the ground to come up and do it all again. Nature is amazing.

preserve the waters, stock it with fish, plant trees and fertilize the soil, cut terraces on the hillsides. There is nothing that says Death Valley has to be dessert, anymore than there is anything that says that the South Bronx has to be an urban sh!t-hole. Man is a steward of nature and the environment, not an intruder, as the leftards insist.
