This happens on almost every article now. Wasn't always this way. I can get trashed as a conservative now just about anywhere I go. I don't need to get it on FR.
Especially after having to deal with out-of-town relatives on my wife's side visiting us. Who have clearly been completely suborned by the woke left. Big shock.
My wife doesn't want to accept that fact. These people even stopped celebrating Christmas. However, when she offered them The Epoch Times to read, the response she got was: "Oh, is this that RIGHT-WING rag"?
That was her son talking. Her own son. My stepson. Very successful young man with an adoring second wife. Ex-military he is. His son is also ex-military who now works for a large federal agency. But "resettles migrants" in his spare time.
They are breaking up families, it's part of the plan.
I'm convinced. It's happening as we speak. There'll be no forums left anywhere for any kind of dissent from the new orthodoxy.

First thing I do is check how long the basher has been on Free Republic. Used to see other people post “Welcome to Free Republic.” But no longer. Some of the liberals have been sleepers and awaken on cue.
Yep. Try talking about the evils of pornography and lust and how it’s destroyed this country, people need to repent and turn to Christ instead and watch how some of the men cry crawl out from the woodwork and defend their right to that perversion and damn everyone else, especially children.

Stay in the battle, learn how to confront and educate. The knuckleheads here on FR can be fun to play with if you do it right. Engaging them sharpens your own sword for the next battle.
Find ONE warrior in your life, and then find another. They are a gift so notice them if they come by.

I did this for years, distancing my kids from their woke-ass aunts, uncles and cousins in their formative years. Now they are older (14 to 23 range) and are all disgusted by their relatives' beliefs.
The ugliness has gotten so bad that I can barely read the comments on most threads. Good people just walk away and quit engaging when the bullies and trolls aren’t dealt with.

In my experience, “military” no longer means predictably conservative or anywhere close to traditional American.
If the military man in question was a commissioned officer, the leftism is nearly total. There are scant few normal American men in that bunch today.
A coworker who was an F-16 pilot reads every woke book that comes out, “white Fragility, etc etc.” And always yammers away about it. He thinks too many white males at the Air Force academy, etc etc.
Odd.

On the plus side, IMO it’s a sign of their desperation. They are losing the cultural war (despite the constant drumbeat of the fake news). They know they are losing. They are desperate to foist their views on us.
Continue to stand strong. When we speak up, we give a voice to those who are too afraid to speak.

Wow. Can you link to an example? Been here 22 years and I have only been hit by the RINOs here on threads about Ukraine or regarding race and crime.
No. We have a lot of trolls that are not being swept under the rug and dealt with, disposed of. Very unfortunate for our ability long term to have a decent community for discussion. Not sure who is currently calling the shots.
Great site with tons of great freepers. A clue is that when someone now needs help, it’s only from older freepers, that they will take it. I agree, I won’t trust anyone pre Obama, sorry for being honest. The truth is the truth.

My thought is that these people here are of the Clay and Buck ilk, and are purposely out to disparage the older, wiser crowd in favor of the “new republicans” of the squishy middle.
There is anecdotal evidence that some longtime Freepers have disappeared from this site.
We don’t really know why they left but it would not be surprising that the level of discourse on Free Republic has turned some people off.
This seems to be an ongoing problem . We do see from time to time the Robinsons put up their message about everyone being civil here.
Oh, I had forgotten that point.
