What the Gen Z’s describe here are very common thoughts that most people have flitting here and there within their minds.
The big difference is these people feel the need to publicize these thoughts of uncertainty. Many of them see admitting/ advertising/ exaggerating/ embellishing and ‘sharing’ their fears will become a way to bond with other young people.
Maybe it’s what used to be called an “Ice Breaker”, where a light topic is brought up, to amuse and entertain before rolling out more private info about yourself.

The inadequacies of the young generation are frustrating.
But young people are shaped by their parents, their schools, and more recently, by the issues with social media. Young people have been sucked into a bad situation all around. And COVID was a disaster for them. And the economy is terrible. As far as I can see, the deck is stacked against the young today and it's not surprising to me that they are doing terribly.
Berating them for being losers will achieve nothing. But I don't know of any constructive methodology that would help troubled people in their 20s suddenly surmount the problems and become high-functioning mature adults.
I suspect that this is a problem that will persist across the country for decades.
These people don’t “dine.” They’ve never even seen a linen tablecloth, much less a knife and fork.
I tried out all the local restaurant’s meatloaf. Big mistake. None of them tasted like meatloaf. The bad news is we’re getting a new restaurant, and I’m going to have to try out their meatloaf too.
Maybe I’ll feel better if I take pictures of the so-called meatloaf and post it on social media.
