Ten Israeli soldiers, including a high-ranking official, were killed while fighting Hamas forces in the Gaza strip yesterday.
Lieutenant Colonel Tomer Grinberg, 35, Major Roei Meldasi, 23, Major Moshe Avram Bar-On, 23, Sergeant Achia Daskal, 19, Captain Liel Hayo, 22, Major Ben Shelly, 26, Major Rom Hecht, 20, Sergeant Oriya Yaakov, 19, Eran Aloni, 19, and Itzhak Ben Basat, 24, died amid battles in Gaza City's Shajaiya neighbourhood.
Several of the servicemen were killed by an explosive device, while the remaining soldiers were gunned down by Hamas fighters after being cut off from the rest of their troop, according to Israeli media.
It marks the worst loss of life in a single day for the Israeli Defense Forces since they launched their operation in response to Hamas' ruthless October 7 attacks.
At least 115 Israeli soldiers have died since ground operations began in Gaza in late October.
But 18,412 Palestinians have been killed during the Israeli attacks since the war began, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
Five of the Israeli soldiers killed in battle in the northern Gaza strip were in the Golani Brigade, including Lieutenant Colonel Grinberg who was the commander of the 13th Battalion.
Major Meldasi, a company commander in the 13th Battalion, Major Bar-On a company commander in the 51st Battalion, Sergeant Daskal a fighter in the 51st Battalion and Captain Hayo a platoon commander in the 51st Battalion were also killed.
Major Shelly and Major Rom Hecht of the Special Rescue Tactical Unit died in the same battle in the Shahja'iya neighborhood.
The IDF also announced that Sergeant Yaakov a fighter in Battalion 614, the School of Combat Engineering lost his life in the northern Gaza strip.

Israel sacrificing it’s soldiers trying to appease the Junta in the U.S.. Buck Fiden. Stop listening to the American backstabbing regime. If Netanyahu proves he’s all talk, he needs to resign and let someone take the reigns who does what Israelis want, not what Biden wants.
I imagine that the hostages’ lives are forfeited already. Probably it’s best to write them off and proceed to the final stages of this campaign.
There are no good options when dealing with deranged terrorists except to make their demise as painful on them as possible in the hope that it will deter the next bunch.

All I can say from living in Israel, is that my mothers friend and my friends mother (both in transplanted yankee yentas in their mid-70’s living in Florida) have both “announced” they have joined the republican party — primary reason being is the actual genuine fear of anti-semitism that they have never ever felt in their life.
This isn’t the kind of issue that they will just go against trump because he’s Trump. When they see him standing strong against Hamas and anti semitism, the yentas will stand with him for MAGA

When the US put two carrier groups in the Med and another is in the area (Persian Gulf or Red Sea, IDK), Iran backed off. Imagine Hamas' surprise when their allies didn't come to their aid, and Israel appears to be serious about annhilating them.
