Leading Democrat claims Republicans refuse 'to accept the results of the Civil War'

A leading Democrat, the new mayor of Chicago, is claiming that Republicans in America still refuse "to accept the results of the Civil War."

It is Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson who recently unleashed a rant about "right-wing extremists."

They are the ones, he charged, that are responsible for the huge problems facing the Democrat-run city.

And specifically, "It's the same Republican right-wing extremism that stormed the Capitol, it's the same right-wing extremism that refuses to accept the results of the Civil War. It's raggedy. It's disrespectful. It's mean-spirited," he charged.

Actually, History.com reports the GOP was founded in 1854 as a coalition opposing the extension of slavery into Western territories, and it fought to protect the rights of African Americans after the 1861-1864 war when Democrats were continuing their battles to keep blacks as second-class residents, much less citizens, by means including the founding of the KKK…

Apparently blacks believe that the results of the Civil War, gave them the freedom to murder their own kind in increasing numbers over the past 158 years since the war ended. Their African ancestors captured neighboring tribesmen, and sold them to the white slavers for bounty, but the generations that have evolved since the war ended, expanded on the practice of turning on their neighbors, in order to enhance their lives, and fill their pockets with the profits that came with it.

The mayor of Chicago is not a leading democrat. He is run of the mill, but not leading. If he isn’t thrown out of office early, he certainly will not win another election.

As I was born & raised in the South I would like to propose a little bit of history that is much lacking on some truths. My great grandfather who lived in Tennessee, went just far enough north to join the Union Army. He was not the only one. There were many of them.

I had great great uncles in the confederate army. My great grandfather on the other side of the family joined up with some confederate irregulars, was captured, paroled and joined the Union Army. He fought at Cedar Creek and Winchester.

Anyone who knows anything about the War Between the States was by any standard outside of the USA anything resembling a “Civil War”. Per the US Constitution and military activity, it was a conventional war between two groups of allied sovereign entities, which is why most if not all signing nations of the Congress of Vienna of 1819 chose neutrality and were willing to trade with either side, which is why France and Great Britain both chose to trade with Confederate States and were also willing to trade with Union States even without formally recognizing the Confederacy as an independent nation.

Wrong. Part of “Democrat” Virginia (AKA West Virginia) seceded to side with the Union and the State of Kentucky never voted to secede at all. Lincolns Emancipation only applied to states “In Rebellion” so both remained slave states until after the war ended. Slavery wasn’t until the 13th Amendment was ratified later on.

He doesn't mean that Civil War. He means the one BLM/Antifa launched in the Summer of 2020, and declared victory in when Trump was out-balloted.

Yes, I know all that. But let’s not get bogged down in trivia. Keep it simple for potential Democrat voters of today.

Democrats held the slaves.
Republicans freed the slaves.

And as a side note, I was recently reading about the ‘Free State of Jones’. Jones was a county in Mississippi that sided with the Union, and fought the Confederacy. I can across the story by accident. Interesting stuff.

Slavery was a horror. Black Americans have accomplished so much.....yet there are times when I wonder if America would be better off if Blacks were never imported.

Guys like this are a weight, a drain, our our society and he is an elected official.

Weird.

The war was about robbery, the excuse was slavery.

Yup. We've been fed a load of Bullsh*t about why the war was fought, but it boils down to rich liberals in the North getting angry they were going to be cut out of controlling the south's trade with Europe.

Yes, New York controlled all the cotton trades with Europe.

72$% of DC's revenue came from the South trading with Europe.
